I proudly present a new tool created by me "Island Value Calculator" or short "IVC".

Q: What is Island Value Calculator?
Its a program for doing calculation about how much resources were spent on building and upgrading all existing buildings on your island.

Q: Why is it better than other similar tools?
Its because of very easy and friendly interface, that is designed for faster input of data. IVC can do even more. Every building has its own picture just like the one in TSO game. When moving mouse over picture you get its name displayed. Selecting a building opens new window where u have all upgrade costs for every level (1-5) plus you can see what resources are given back if you want to destroy that building and what is move cost for selected bulding.

Q: How do we use IVC?
Open the program. Move mouse on building you want to add and click on it. New window is displayed where you have UpDown input for every level. Choose the desired number of buildings for level you want to add. Close displayed window or press ESC on keyboard to do the math. Building and upgrade costs will be displayed in the SUM part of calculator.

Q: Is it possible to save IVC input data?
Yes. Tool starts with fresh default zero data. When you start doing input of your buildings it gets automatically saved so when you open calculator again you will see old input data. There is even more. Lets say you put all info from your island and dont want to change it because you want to calculate something else, then press "Export" and save your IVC backup data to any place where you want. Press "Reset" and get reset of IVC to default zero data and start using it again. When you figured out like how much a chain of 40xfarms + 20xmills costs to get to level 5 just press "Import" and load the main IVC data you saved earlier. So in basic you can have multiple save data and use/edit them individually.

Q: What do I download?
Main IVC folder contains:
READ THIS FIRST.txt - manual on how to use program.
IVC.dll - contains pictures for interface.
IVCdata.ini - contains IVC input data.
Island Value Calculator.exe - program for calculating.
[Put main folder on any place on PC and make desktop shortcut of (Island Value Calculator.exe) to start using it]

Q: Will it work on my OS?
Program was made on Windows XP SP3. In basic it should work on all OS but if you experience any difficulties or program is not working on your PC please say it so me/we can fix that problem. Thanks

Q: From where do you get all info for buildings?
The biggest part I get from "The Great Settler Library" made by our good forum moderator peck_ed who have done a great work to help us all know everything about TSO

1. Download this program only from my personal share link and no other websites, texts, blogs because they can do harm to you or your PC. Only data that is uploaded to my personal share link will be 100% virus/malware/trojan free and will do no harm to you.

2. It is strictly forbidden to copy/paste my personal share link to any official place of TSO. You dont have the right to paste my link in any thread, comment, global chat, help window, trade window etc.

The only and I repeat ONLY!!! way to distribute my personal share link is by Forum/InGame mail box. If you want to help me improve program, make it grow, be better for all players of TSO please SHARE LINK ONLY BY MAIL BOX!!!

Everything related to my TSO files and the program itself is located in the folder "The Settlers Online". Every new update of program itself will be uploaded to the same folder so all versions will stay visible. Every update is gonna be first announced at the forum thread "Island Value Calculator" and uploaded on the personal share link. Sometimes link needs time to load. If its longer than 30 seconds refresh page and try again.

Hi everyone,

I am not a very experient TSO player yet, but I would like to leave a small "feedback". This program has helped me so far, I am around level 30 and always need to know what is the price of an additional chain production of X...or if I upgrade all these buildings what's the cost. This program has helped me there nicely.

The only thing that comes to my mind to improve it is to get API keys to map whole island instantly rather than counting buildings. Now we have to wait for BB to provide us access to it.

Thanks QuiGon for opinion and new ideas. That part will be placed for future to implement so i think v1.2 will have lots of new gem items & K0sha1 yes the problem is there is no way to import building data to IVC so all you need is to manually add them but I was thinking at least function of all data about the building itself can be shown here in IVC and i hope there will be lot more ideas to implement Cheers


Update on v1.1
For now v1.1 goes well. Some new things are already implemented and on testing. Because of new visual interface there were lots of small things to fix and still got some but here is list what is implemented.

+New science buildings have been added (all 7 of them).
+All buildings now have option to show move cost per level.
+Shortcuts with keyboard like "Ctrl+Alt+R/S/L" have been removed and now have buttons for selection.
+Its possible to import backup "IVCdata" from v1.0 to v1.1 .
+"Help" button was added to say how to use calculator.
+"Copy To Clipboard" button added to copy all sum of used resources so it can be pasted to show people values.

For now its working but still has lots of small things that can be improved and that I need to fix, some from v1.0 some new. Release date was planed after the new science system gets implemented in game so I can check if all new buildings are on same place like in IVC v1.1 and until that i have more time to test and see if there are bugs left to fix. For now plan for v1.1 was to add new buildings + move cost function so v1.2 will be a bigger project because there are gem items that need to be added and probably visual interface will change of the complexity of bigger input data. And we are updating "IVC (v1.1)" is ready and finished so all are free to try it out. You can check how it looks like in the "ALL VERSIONS OF IVC" part where I made picture of every version so they can be compared. Every one who knows my personal share link can go to it and download new version of IVC. If you dont know it and you wana try it out send me a PM on Forum/InGame and I will tell it to you.

Hi,
thank you for that nice tool, it is really usefull :-)

So far I found just 1 little bug. It is not possible for me to add steel weaponsmith building. If I click on the Steel weaponsmith icon, program shows me Buther window...

Update on v1.1 because of bug "Ramonar" found about "Steel weaponsmith" showing "Butcher" instead.
-problem was false number "gADVANCED11" it needs to be "gADVANCED21"

IVC (v1.1)/13.06.2013/ is re-uploaded to IVC (v1.1)/14.06.2013/

Again sry for missing this part so feel free to download the latest version that has fix for this bug. I need to think about implementing an update button to IVC for cases like this so you dont need to download every time from personal share link but the program itself can do the job Cheers
