Let's see if I can lay this granite discussion regarding the science skill tree to rest a little...
* 15.5 explorers sent out per run
(14 fast explorers aquired from merchant and events + 3 slow explorers purchased from tavern)
* 3.72 of the explorers sent out on average will find granite
(24% of the 15.5 sent out as above)
* 248 total granite found each run on average
(1.4% chance of finding 100 granite and 2.7% to find 50 granite so it is accurate enough to say that the 50 granite will show itself exactly twice as often as the 100)
...That amount 250 is exactly what I've been experiencing for many weeks now. The lowest I have received was 0, which may have happened
maybe 2 or 3 times. The highest was 550 which I had twice. When my explorers return I'm always hoping for 300 to 350 which is a good run.
If you have the skills "Loot Wagon" and "Sturdy Shovel" then you will receive a tip on any of those granite chunks found which will bring your average up to around 330 per run.
There have been rumors on granite amounts increasing based on what you have in stock. So far I disagree as I'm seeing this consistent average coming in even with 0K to 50K in stock. BUT, I stay very open minded to things like that as they do exist in games and are easy enough and reason enough for some developers to code in.
Some of the talk in this thread on "what's possible" I think may be generating some confusion especially with the new players. I realize that it is technically possible to be struck by lightning exactly 4 times each minute, while wearing a blue shirt which 33% of the population in your town on a tuesday consider it to be closer to green, and at the same time between lighting strike intervals the coin you flip lands on heads each time except for every 564th flip it drops and so happens to land on heads still, and during this cycle of lightning strikes, shirt color evaluations and coin tossing, the phone rings with a different person each time asking for John Q. Smith except Smith spelled Smyth, except when you ask they say "Smith", and during all of this your wife keeps demanding that you hurry and come to the table to eat your steak and yorkshire pudding because the 2 hour massage following needs to all be done in time for you to still log in and hit your Book Binder with glue! Yes, I realize it's technically possible...BUT, it has never happened. I hope this clears some confusion up.
God I hope my numbers above are correct, or close to it, because I don't want to come back here![]()
