Maximum cost of a codex on a level 5 bookbinder
Manuscript: 15 x 12 hours = 180 hours
Tome: 3 x 14 Hours 24 mins = 43 hours 12 mins
Codex: 1 x 16 hours 48 = 16 hours 48 mins
Total: 240 hours = 10 days
(These numbers do not take bookbinder buffs into account)
When will it start costing this much per codex?
When you will create the 41st codex, thus you already have:
2 geologists with maximum possible codex skills: 22 codices
3 explorers with maximum possible codex skills: 18 codices
Of course you can smuggle by putting books in lower tiers and thus spread your codex over multiple specialists
Don't forget the general tree is coming too, so might want to skip the 3rd explorer and use those 6 codex for your generals
Special thanks to:
Jamdoggy (he already posted about the time needed)

dont forget that 10 days is time needed if you are a robot.
Is cost for 90+ for Manuscript, 80+ for Tome and 60+ for codex is fixed, (not increased again no matter how much it produced) or it just illustration of increased price?
After reaching the final tier for each book, the costs won't increase any further.
- After you created your 90th Manuscript all following Manuscripts will cost:
590 + 470 + 24 = 1
- After you created your 80th Tome all following Tomes will cost:
605 + 415 + 5 = 1
- After you created your 60th Codex all following Codexes will cost:
560 + 400 + 3 = 1
The first post shows when and with how much the prices increase for the earlier books.

These price increases only happen when you use the books etc. Make a load and store them then use in one hit
No, it doesn't matter whether you use the books or not, the price will increase.
I've been storing up books for quite a while waiting for the generals to come out, prices have continued to rise even though I'm not using them.
