    Science System COST and Geologist

    BEFORE you invest books into your GEO. Think again!!


    Considering how the cost will be going up as you make more books. It will be VERY expensive to upgrade/talent your 2nd Geo.

    You might want to think twice before you even decide to upgrade your first Geo. And especially your 2nd.
    Why?

    Since the Science System bookbinder will be used for upgrading your General, Explorer and Island later, you will be paying a very very expensive price later when they're introduced.

    Notice the materials and gold cost going up every 10 books you make.
    And considering the next tier of books uses the first tier. you can easily do the math and realize that you need to make 2x as many manuscripts for the codex (last tier book).

    1m (x10)
    1m->1t (x10)
    1m->1t->1c (x10 or x11 if you plan to spend the codex on the last tier node)
    You need about 31 manuscript for one geo.

    Now if you keep upgrading your 2nd geo, that cost will go up significantly because you'll need to produce TWICE as many manuscript for the tome. since the tome consumes 2manuscript as part of the cost. (after 20).

    If you upgrade more geo. and the explorers or general comes out needing a full upgrade. You're going to be paying a fat fat price.
    The codex will end up needing 2 tomes to consume as cost, thus you're going to need 4 times as many manuscript just to use 1 codex at that point.
    You do the math. It's exponential in cost. since the manuscript goes up in cost every 10 books, its going to be crazy expensive!!

    I hope BB has a cap limit the cost. Otherwise those who use the books on geos now are going to get screwed majorly later.

    The more I keep looking at this science system, the more I think they need specialist building types... ie the surveyors guild, the explorers guild, military academy etc.

    As per my previous post Here

    In each type, you will spend a max of 54 books:- 21 codex, 18 tome, 15 manuscript (as per needed to max out the geo's skill tree) Then you simply spend gold for the Geo to learn what you've researched with the books

    So say Tier 1 of the Surveyors Guild is:
    Name: Hidden Stone Stash (0/3)
    Effect: Grants a certain chance to find a treasure when searching for a Stone deposit.
    Extra note: treasure for this level similar to short treasure search with explorer (possibility 10/20/30 %)

    Name: Natural Copper Vein (0/3)
    Effect: Grants a possibility to discover bigger Copper deposits.
    Extra note: give 5/10/15% of original copper deposit (possibility 100%)

    But you must have the ability fully researched before you can specialize your Geo into learning even 1 point of it.

    This proposed system could justify the cost increase and for those players (such as myself) who have numerous fast explorers, Jollys, Vets & BHGs, reduce the overall time frame (OVER 5 YEARS FOR ME WITH CURRENT SCIENCE SYSTEM !!! - given I have 48 specialists) and overall costs spent on upgrading these special units.

    All this is based on upgrading 1 particular geo as high as you can before moving on to the next one. Doing it this way means yes it will cost you more and more to give the next one the low tier skills. For those of us who have been playing long enough to have multiple geos/gens etc to skill up we have the option of instead going for a tier based system. eg give skills to the lowest tier of all geo's before giving the first the next level skills.

    For those people who are just starting unless they are gem buyers their NPC's will be obtained from the tavern which does mean increased costs for the next one, until such time as they are able to obtaining NPC's though events and saved gems. It appears to me that since the cost of event and gem NPC's stays the same BB have introduced this as a means to introduce increased cost per for these NPC's.

    On the test server this originally only happened for books stored in storehouse rather than spent. Seems like they have tweaked this now. Going to be costly.
