[Guide] Old Ruins Veteran Cannon Guide

For the double block please ensure both blocking generals have left their garrisons before sending the veteran.

Thanks to pi314tyu for better setups for L1 and L2, and to Drunken_Abbott for pointing out a couple of typos... one of which could have been very costly (C instead of K)!

    Full size version here

Close ups for block locations follow:

    Block 1

    Block 2

    Hi pi314tyu

Yes I forgot that L1 was no loss and that the R weren't needed, thanks I'll update the guide! The one cannoneer just serves to reduce the building destruction time but is not necessary as there is enough time in the block.

Thanks for the setup for L2, I knew the losses were a lot less than 50R but it was getting pretty late when I finished it last night so forgot to look for a better setup! Xbows are definitely better than cannoneers with the Croaker having last strike!

    Thanks again

I have the same problem with X2 placement, will just have to sim and attack as normal

Hi! nice guide. I have only one suggestion. It is possible to skip C4 and save 80-something recruits which I describe already on:

    Hi Gubec_Beg,
You cannot do this if using the double block in the last attack, blocking these saves more troops than bypassing camp 4

Unfortunately if paths remain the first block cannot be sent from the positions described. As long as the blocking and veteran general have more than 8 flags separation as they march the block should still work. Sefarin made a screenshot of an alternative position but unfortunately my PC crashed before I saved the link, and at present I can't get another adventure to retry.

Thanks Gebec_Beg! It does look like it's still possible to do the double block skipping C4, but unless it becomes possible for me to get another adventure to try this myself I will leave my guide as is. For those that want to try it, djnelson99 has described an option on killste's thread here.

Well this isn't the guide for you in that case I'm afraid! I would suggest looking at Metsjuku's guide here.
