[Dev Diary] Epic Raids and more!

New resource, epic raids, guild market change and voting, guild system improvements...

    Dear Settlers,

This developer's diary entry is related to a brand new solution for high level players, epic raids, changes affecting guilds and more!

After you reach the highest level in the game, collecting further experience points grants you no advantage. This situation will be changed with the upcoming updates. As a first step, a brand new resource will be implemented to the game: Star Coins.

Resource name: Star Coins (not tradable)
Available only for level 50 players

After the new resource is implemented, all players with level 50 will not be receiving experience points for adventures anymore, they will be getting Star Coins instead. The epic raid adventures are an exception: instead of XP/Star Coins, level 50 players will be receiving additional Magic Beans from them.

What’s more, there will be a special script executed only once on the 8th of August 2013 (during the maintenance). It will affect only level 50 players and will convert all experience points into Star Coins.

    How will it work, exactly?

On the date mentioned above, all experience points acquired after reaching level 50 will be automatically converted into Star Coins and added to a player's storage. Experience points from not accepted in-game mails will be converted as well and deleted from the mail’s attachments afterwards.

In case you accepted some XP points after reaching level 50, they will be included in the calculation converting the XP into Star Coins as well. No experience points will be lost.

As a second step, a new shop category will be added to the game. This section will include very useful offers that can be acquired in exchange for Star Coins. The respective items are still in the balancing process. More information about offers included there will be revealed later on and the same goes for the date of its implementation.

As communicated in the past, there will be many complex and challenging adventures added to the game. They will allow high-level players to fight with mythical creatures from fairy tales and acquire unique items.

The feature will enrich the game with new adventures, new enemies, new resources, new buildings, new specialist and more. The first batch of epic raids will be deployed on the UK version of the game on 8th of August 2013.

Using this opportunity, we would like to thank all players who submitted their feedback in our test server’s forums. Based on your comments and opinions, several aspects related to the epic raids feature were adjusted. For example, the Gold Tower is no longer producing gold bars and is now producing Coins instead.

Important: presented values may differ from the final version.

In May, the first international community vote was held. It was related to the upcoming changes in the guild market. On a world wide basis, all players were able to choose one item that would be included there. All communities unanimously chose the Silo building. It will be added to the guild market category with the update that will take place on the 8th of August.

These are votes from international instances.

The first community vote was a big success, so we’ve decided to do a second one in the near future. During the second vote, you will be able to choose not one, but two items! More information about this will be revealed soon.

Many players asked about an overview showing who completed assigned daily guild quests. Following your request, the decision was made that such an overview will be implemented in the game. If the testing phase is successful, the overview of daily guild quests will be added to the game on the 22nd of August 2013.

The whole guild interface will be improved and some screenshots can be found below. Please keep in mind that all graphics presented in developer’s diaries may differ from the final ones.

Short summary of improvements: daily guild quest indicator, activity indicator, cooperation indicator (adventures), possibility to change the guild leader.

    NEW MEMBERS LIST

Click here to enlarge the picture.

It will be possible to see who was recently active and who completed a daily guild quest. It will be also possible to check a succession order (related to guild leader change) and see adventure cooperation requests.

    ADVENTURE COOPERATION REQUEST

Click here to enlarge the picture.

While starting an adventure for at least 2 players, you will be able to check a special checkbox indicating cooperation request – all guild members will be able to see it.

    GUILD LEADER CHANGE

One of the features players requested many times was the possibility to change a guild leader. There will be two options added to the game. The guild leader can offer the leadership to another guild member (based on a succession order by using the “step down” button). In case the guild leader is inactive for certain amount of time (the time span is not finalized yet), the respective guild member (succession order) will be asked to take over the guild leadership.

The beginning of July brought many updates and fixes to the test server. For example, a fix for the “Death to the leaders” quest, a fix for not being able to visit friends’ islands, a fix related to the trade history updating and more. If the testing phase is successful, many fixes will be implemented on live servers in the near future. More information about all fixes are available on http://tsotesting.com website – feel free to test it.

What’s more, some of news mentioned in this developer’s diary entry (for example the Star Coins resource and retro buffs/adventures in the Shop) will be implemented on the test server soon.

Enjoy testing and feel free to share your feedback in the test server’s forums!
