What would make a good International Event?

A simple question, fueled in no small part by the experience of the 20th Anniversary Event.

What do you think would make a good international event for TSO?

Any with individual rewards, guild rewards and active players only being counted towards the server %
Realistic goals with progress not displayed as a seemingly meaningless number (100,100,100 balloons out of 200,000,000 with 5432 players participating for an example)
More information is usually good, and will help motivate the players and the community more.

same event could have been done with just 3 groups, evenly weighted (split up the german servers), then everyone would be sacrificing resources to the max right to the end, same prizes

4 Winds wasnt bad except for the rediculous difficulty in the chance element that could not be overcome by skill or effort, only luck.

A unique and useful building from the event is exciting.

Concrete and realistic goal. If you're going to say %, say what the total is as well.

And +1 for everything Peajay said.

    Here here! Well said.

Individual rewards would cause more players to actually compete and the server as a whole would benefit.

How about building a really cool castle using resources from across the server, obviously large amounts compared to our individual islands, but spread across level caps you could involve all levels. You could have a new NPC the `castle architect' who sets the tasks and the resources required over the time frame. Maybe a guild quest running as well which gives a guild flag or crest to put on your castle for as long as you are in the guild, if the server manages to make one and the guild completes its quest. All players across the server making a minimum contribution of resources set by their level cap and side quest counter ( which values resources in a similar fashion to the balloon production, maybe) would get the castle the server makes at the end. Following the theme of recent inter-server events, have three levels of castle obtainable ( standard > upgrade> super cool ) with an equivalent population capacity increase for each. To keep all the high level players happy with full islands the designers could make it able to be placed on the lake in the middle of the island like the floating residence's...all it would need is a drawbridge

Some minimum level of involvement to qualify for server prizes - now and during the EotW event plenty of players were vocal about not participating - I didn't see any turn their prizes down though.

and +1 on everything Peajay said too

The balloon event WOULD have made a good international event if it had been done better...
