    Something for the over 50’s

Sorry if this has already been covered but I did a quick look and did not find anything.

Basically this is from a guild chat the other day where various ideas were discussed to add a level of game play for players that get to lvl 50. The main problem is that by the time a player gets to level 50 they are more or less all setup on their island so not a great deal to do there. One of the ideas discussed was having a 2nd island for over 50’s, certainly not a retirement home as it will be really hard to take over and control.

To get to this island first of all you need to build ships.

So you need a new production building, a shipbuilder and is only available for lvl 50’s, upgrading the building allows for different types of ships to be built:

Level 1 - Scout - To find the island
Level 2 - Troop Carrier - mmm, gets your troops there
Level 3 - Cargo Ship - Goods there and back as you need to take goods with you to build stuff there first
Level 4 - Frigate - To protect your other ships, there could be pirates about or maybe other players in a PvP sense
    Level 5 – Who knows 

Once you have ships you can then set off to the new island, which has added bonus. Larger more difficult camps to beat, so you can try and take control of the areas, plus better rewards for controlling the areas. Things like granite quarry, exotic forests titanium mine and maybe other stuff.

There are also roaming bandits (who want their island back) who will attack your resource building if you do not protect them. So you need to keep some troops there for protection, who will need watch towers or better for your troops to cover a certain area. As they are upgraded they hold more troops and cover larger areas. This could also lead to a PvP option which has been spoken about before.

As always there are options for the use of Gems in the normal way, as I guess we need to create a revenue stream to cover the costs of the additions.

Anyhow normal stuff comes in to speed up or buy buildings.
New things like purchasde a defensive force that lasts for a period of time to look after your resources on this 2nd island.
Hire escorts to protect your cargo ships that move resources between these islands. This could be due to not having a frigate or you want to assign better protection. The more your cargo ships carry the more a target they are and the more defence they may need. I cannot see many people wanting to risk 5000 granite going due to a pirate attack.

The Science system could give additional abilities to ship captains who would be recruited in Tavern or purchased for Gems similar to Generals.
Purchased Generals could be of 3 kinds or 1 type and you select their skill, another option is the purchase of buffs to improve skills on these captains too:

Pirate Captain - Who would be good at finding and taking the cargo from other ships
Battle Captain – Good for defending against Pirates
Cargo Captain – Faster travel time and good avoidance skills from Pirates

This is just a few of the options it could allow for; there are lots more that could come with this.

I suggested this when the science system was brought in :

BB should be investing more time in to what happens post lvl 50. Island expansions, more licences, different buildings, a good idea would be ships and boats so you could travel to other players islands, or adventures faster, but not just a rehash of what is already available. And obviously introduce pvp/ guild v guild as you give the game more depth. Also I don’t think they are using what they have effectively, better adventures that require you to make dama swords and use more crossbows would help, but again this is just a temporary measure.
It's a good idea, but I think it would be a long way off if it was to happen.
