The Halloweeen Event 2013 Please get it right

BB say they read the forum....we'll see

I've done my share of moaning over the last event, so rather than wait to do the same again once the next event comes around and BB makes the same mistakes, I thought it better to get in early while they are still at the planning stage ( hopefully ) and try to ` Help/stop' them from repeating mistakes which they have done over the period I have been playing TSO. ( 1 year this week )
As was shown at the Easter event some consideration should be made for those loyal players that have been playing long enough to have played the event before and already have the main specialist and buildings on offer. In this event these were:
The Grim Reaper general ( max 1); Schools (max 3) and Silos ( max 3)
So the first thing BB needs to do is offer more of the same or something new to keep these players happy, like they eventually did with the 2nd.Vet. at Easter ( after the players complained). My suggestion would be another BHG equivalent at the very least, call him death, pestilence, war or grim again, but make him available to all even those with one already. I would prefer to see offered a 220 general to bring us in line with the German servers ( which could then allow for the Easter event to upgrade from the Vet to a Master general as the offered specialist in line with the FTA coming online later this year perhaps )
How about an option to buy a single `university building' with pumpkins plus trading in the three schools thus giving the same ( or equivalent to four schools ) production but using two less buildings . Thus first time event players could opt to try and get the three schools whilst the second time event players would be aiming at the university. ( Put more progression into the Game )
Please, Please, make the information about the Pumpkin `semetary's' and their production rates clear from the start, and make sure things like maintenance times are factored in so players can plan ahead and not feel cheated by un buffed production of what was very limited pumpkins in the first place. ( I understand the reasoning for limiting the event resource , but given what players have `suffered' recently, it may be time to just be a little more generous and tweak the figures up a little, one extra field in each category would balance the event with a positive outlook from the start and make the rewards appear more achievable).
Following on this theme, perhaps the `extra' pumpkin fields could be bought using last years pumpkins pre-event, they must be good for seed after all this time
At least one `level based' combat adventure island (themed with dark castles and witch towers ) which gives a variety of loot slots like normal adventures with added pumpkins and maybe a small % chance of an event themed building or decoration ( not tradable ). After the Easter and Celebration event point and click adventures are getting a little tired and overdone, mix them in by all means but don't make the whole event like this.
There was mixed feelings on the dark buff last event, I was not bothered, as I didn't have anyone in my friends list lol, but a buff which could change the sound track with a few options would make the event more entertaining over the time frame and stop me and I'm sure others reaching for the sound off button after a few days in. Probably too much to ask but having a ghostly settler roaming my island instead of a deer or wolf would really add to the atmosphere, If it was somehow interactive so much the better, basically put a bit of fun into the event

I'd Recycle plants as the building again, and not limited to players who got them at the last event...can't remember what 1 that was.

It would also be beneficial to the higher level players as they could remove a chunk of thier coking chain....meaning more building licences....meaning something (semi) different to build.

Or the introduction of a fisherman that worked like a Deer hut E.g. you don't have to refill.

I guess you lot have not heard of the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". The Halloween event worked OK last time, so why why why do you want to pile more work on the devs when they can be better employed fixing what is broke.

Agreed with Dorotheus and Gyatha, last Halloween went fairly well, and there's no real reason to drastically change something that mostly worked.
The timers on the pumpkin fields were a bit screwy, so sorting that would definitely help out.

2011 Halloween had Grim and silos.
2012 Halloween had Grim, silos, and 3 schools. You definitely couldn't get Grim a second time, and probably not the silos, haven't looked it up.
2013 I'd imagine may have the above, plus something new again. Older players would then be able to pick up the new thing, and perhaps anything they missed from last year (I only grabbed 1 school for example). There's no real reason to allow people to re-get anything, it's good for the industrious new player to feel like they can catch up. If we were allowed to get a new Grim every year, the new player would feel like they missed out, which isn't life shattering, but still nice to avoid.

Maybe instead of a Grim Reaper another horseman of the apocalypse. Wouldn't mind having War go to battle for me.

Regular BHG's can be purchased easy enough with the improved log in bonus so limited skins for them would be great. Just please make them look different on screen in future if you do go down this route.
