Wouldn't it be nice and easy if you could just see which general and the troops he is carrying when you hover your mouse over it? I'm sure more people check their gens before attacking and this would certainly make things quicker and easier.

Well, the info's one click away if you click on star and then hover over the general's face. Or if you click on the general's garrison. That's how I check.
Indeed you can check it in your star menu ;] , so it's kinda unneccesary
