It is hard to give a really good feedback without seeing science tree, but I have already some rather negative thoughts.

For example these: Name: Lucky Detour
Effect: Raises a chance to find Granite on Medium treasure searches.

To be honest it is useless. No one, who is looking for granite, is doing medium search. All players do very long treasure search, when they achieve lvl 40. And players, who are on such low levels that they do medium search, rather do not need granite. I was even angry when I got it, because hardwood planks and marble were much more needed for making level 2-3 buildings.

Would be great if this skill was working on all treasure searches (later, with better skills chance can be increased even further). Cause when it is only for medium, it is useless for almost all current players and will be useful for new ones only for short time.

    Name: Powder Sack
Effect: Allows finding more Saltpeter on Extra-long treasure searches.

Would love to see someone who needs saltpeter more then other resources brought by explorers. Sorry, but players are usually angry that their explorers brings saltpeter. I have lot of it and do not need it.

I would suggest changing it on gold ore, or in worst case for exotic logs.

    Name: Offbeat Roads
Effect: Raises chances of finding Titanium ore on Long treasure searches.

Titanium is also not loved by players, but at least it is more useful and easier to sell for decent price then saltpeter. But still people usually much more prefer granit, gold ore and exotic wood.

    Name: Extended Weekend
Effect: Shortens the search time for Medium treasure searches.

As I already said. Medium searches are rare. I did my last many months ago and there are probably players who did last one even longer. And I will never going to do one.

    Name: Loot Wagon
Effect: Allows finding more Granite on Medium treasure searches.

    Are you serious???? Again medium?

    Name: Mistwalker
Effect: Raises chances of finding Titanium ore on Long treasure searches.

And again titanium... Also long searches are used in quite limited range of levels.

    Name: Hero Ore
Effect: Allows finding more Titanium ore on Long treasure searches.

    Again titanium, again long search...

In my opinion current proposition is rather bad. I am afraid that I will have to spend lot of books on making skills, which I will never use, or I do not want, only to level up to some rare useful skills. I do not like it at all. The more so, making manuscript already became for me very expensive. I pay now 18 coins and IRRC four hundred of nibs and paper for one manuscript. How much will I pay for one year?? And you want me to spend dozens of books on totally useless skills? On 15 explorers? Please... I will rather resign from investing in science... And it was science system introduction, what brought me back to these game after I get bored.

This is good news Peck_ed but unfortunately its not been widely distributed as info, perhaps? Is there any way of getting this news across to those who have already given up on the science system ? I certainly didnt know this, but perhaps I should have trawled through more information to find it (sarcasm not intended hun, but is there a better place for this to be this info to be globally found?)

So after i have produced 91 manuscripts 81 tomes and 61 codex how much is the cost to produce 1 codex and how much time is required for it?
15 manuscript (7.5 days) 3 tomes (43.5 hours ) 1 codex (16 hours).Thats almost 10 days for 1 codex with 5 lvl bookbinder not to mention the material costs and the effort required to always produce books since there is no queue on bookbinder

I find it very disappointing that with very long searches there are no skills which allows for either more or faster searching for exotic wood logs or granite.

I perfectly understand it.I also understand that the game is designed in a way that makes player buy gems. But 10 days for 1 codex?Just count the number of specialists you got and do the math.It feels like the science system is designed so you cant never max out your specialists unless you spent few hundred thousand gems

Based on the cap an extra geologist maxed with 31 books- 15M-7T-9C will cost:

    185M, 33T, 9C

    4,440coins
    109,150 paper - 3,300c
    86,950 nibs - 10,440c
    21,270 Int Pap - 1,700c
    14,110 PT - 3,100
    5040AP - 7,500
    3600BF - 6,500

So overall any maxed geologist will cost roughly 36,000coins + time to make all that... About 60 days worth buffed or 120 days unbuffed at lvl 5 making books 24/7 which is impossible because there is no building queue...
