I tried to login but received this same error. it's been several hours with no success. Guildmates initially had difficulty getting in which cleared up for them, but still persists for me. A guildmate tried to get on my island but encountered "island is locked" and could not. The only thing different I did was send my generals to kill the new Halloween enemy on the island before closing my browser for the night, 12 hours before.
After reading all the comments, it's random. I would remove the initial possible cause on this thread, bc it doesn't apply.
Same here - on Sandycove, haven't been able to play game since yesterday morning my time - initially I thought this happened because they were fixing an issue on my island but it turns out it's not just me.
I hope it gets seen now and fixed asap.
A number of players in our guild (New Settlers / Zon-B) have experienced this lock-out bug. Some more than once, and some have been locked out for 1 to 2 days.
I'm positive about game ownership having been transferred away from BB. I'm hopeful and confident that things will improve because of that. This is really painful though.
The Halloween event is one of the most popular events of the year, and people are way down on collecting pumpkins and in some cases even losing their pumpkin fields because of this error.
Ouch!!!
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be ...
