A gold smelter needs 2500 tools!
It is working in exactly the way it should do: a gold smelter needs 2500 tools and if you have 1730 tools you are short by 770 tools. Make some or buy some.

Just a suggestion; it might be worth asking in help next time as someone there can always comment on whether it's likely to be a bug or if it's something that can be solved easily. It's a bit quicker.
Twelve minutes doesn't strike me as slow, and I was under the impression (mistakenly so) that this was a technical issue so posted in what appeared to be the correct subforum. Apologies.
It was in the right place, just Help chat is pretty quick. Not a criticism, just a suggestion.
