    Morale system

    Tavern:
    - a new feature to organise minor (one day long), major (one week long) and superior (one month long) events, which influence settlers and soldiers.

    New building: church.
One per island, will raise morale by a fixed amount at no cost (besides building cost).

Guild morale: a buff that affects the entire guild for a weekend or a few days.

    Its effects:
    - Buildings are build faster.
    - Production becomes faster by shortening the time it takes to transfer products and raw materials between the production building and storage house.
    - The effective production time becomes a little shorter.
    - Generals would travel faster between home island and adventure island. It would raise the accuracy percentage of different military unit types.
    - Geologists and explorers would be faster as well.
    - New settlers would appear in shorter time, cost of military units or their production time would slightly decrease

Wow that's a lot of somethings for nothing once you have recouped the building costs.
When it comes to Gene pools and shallow ends they can be found at the bar drinking pina colada's

Hm. The list is too long. Let it be simple: you want everything faster. And what such a building for? Do you think, its price will be enough to counterbalance?

It was just an idea not a fully developed concept. Nothing prevents other commenters from adding to it and if BB likes it, they can think it through properly before implementing.
Ofc the events (minor, major, superior) would have material costs. There could be further differentiation, eg. barracks could produce buffs for generals and military units, church could produce buffs for economy, tavern for explorers and geologists. There would be cheaper ones and more expensive ones.
On the other hand, a guild being able to buff the entire guild, even if only for a weekend, would prompt guild members to be more active to help produce this buff, bring people together as a community, and it would add one more thing to the benefits of being in a guild.

This could work only if the buildings providing morale would have an ongoing cost... a few examples out of my head: church could use a new resource like candles (opens up a new building chain), another building could be a Tavern-Inn that uses brew to provide morale )

Surely we can find more examples that fit the game system.

The morale could also be improved by decorative buildings. For example: all the production buildings within a certain distance of a flowerbed have a slightly shorter production time; it can be influenced by different types of decoration with some having more effect than others. Maybe it could also work for "nice" builidings such as white castle, headquarters, guild office, etc... It would give the decoration buildings some more use and trading value.
