Copied and pasted from my post above " gameplay, enjoyment and sense of accomplishment" "Levels act as a distinguisher between players".
You're telling me that whenever you reached a new level in the game you didn't get any sense of satisfaction, achievement, pleasure?

Friendly competition adds a lot to any game/sport and as above, it's not just about competition.

What do you think is great? I assume you're talking about Epic items? All of the new buildings are massive when space is at a high premium. Gold tower is just deco and too large, Mag residence is too large and expensive and has a lower density than the Frozen manor. Major General is ok but nothing that will keep anyone going for long.

The fact you had your eyes on something that was so very expensive yet offered so very little says it all. It was less useful than a normal veteran yet costs all of the star coin XP equivalent of repeating the first 50 levels (3 million XP). Refinement I hear you say?

Answer me this naysayers, in what way would the addition of new levels be detrimental to your game?? If you care so little about levels you wouldn't even notice them right?

Almost a year ago to this day BB again repeated that the level cap would be raised.

BB is too scared to be honest and say "We will never raise the level cap" because they know what the result will be - instead they avoid the issue.

51+ level wise is just a number to me not that important. As what happens say when we all get to level 60 then people be wanting more levels again so there's no point in my eyes to make more as it will never be high enough for some people.
Who said anything about level 60? Why not 100? Why not 500? Why not make the levels never ending? The level XP requirement could be capped at that of the 49 to 50 level. The point is that as the game stands now, any current level 50 player could stop playing for a year and return to the game exactly where they left off, no further forward, no further behind. Levels show a dedication to the game they are earned and the daily grind of adventures in this game deserves to give you back a badge of respect or some form of recognition. If you're not advancing in the game and merely standing still, what are you actually getting from it? For me the main gameplay aside any of the distractions was always about improving things, making the island work better, improving production, improving my XP, making the island look better. Where is the gameplay when immovable brick walls are surrounding on all sides?

the legendary vet was weak yes, but a 4th vet would have allowed me to do HLT without recovery time. I didn't need anything else, just a 4th vet. A small thing I admit, but useful to me and much more useful than a big shiny badge saying 51. And I'd never considered the price. It took me a month to get the 15k I was short, so comparisons to the lv1-50 is a bit pointless in a game where progress is exponential.

On the subject of accomplishment - yes, I got a buzz doing my first epic. I got a kick getting my FT castle. Getting the MG was a kodak moment too. The sense of progression and accomplishment is still there. And no - it's not just epic item. Science system is a great innovation. I look forward to upgrading my generals. Collectibles is a nice diversion too - not to everyone's taste - fair enough - take it or leave it.

BB have broken many promises. I guess they have lots to learn about communication. No argument there. If I recall the announcement about the deleting unclaimed loots caused such an uproar that they rethought things. Can't have it both ways.

The problem with adding more levels is it will lead to an expectation that progression is infinite. when we reach lv60 what then? Will I really have to get 20 million xp to unlock a new building. Star coins offer different choices depending on your gameplay. Yes, I agree much is fluff or badly priced, but ranged attacks and potions are very useful. Those choosing not to pay have a new gem option too. By introducing new content without restricting it to level, I think BB are keeping the game fresh and providing variety. I expect a new round of epic adventures will be released next year.

Overall what I am trying to say is that star coins were in my opinion the final nail in the coffin for new levels and so far it's very poor.

To be fair to BB, there are some good things coming through like the rock removal (hurry up!) and there are still some things for me to personally strive for to improve my game. I'm sticking around still in the hope that a game changer does happen, maybe PVP?

See post on other page as i was still editing it when you posted this, most the answers you want from me are in there.

and as for "badge of respect or some form of recognition" i'm sure at level 50 you have earned respect.
As i know I use my knowledge etc to help others i don't personally play the game to expect respect or a medal or something, i do it for fun and to help others where i can. My island is balanced has been for ages so don't need it to work better most things i trade in i give to guildies anyhow as i don't need it with my balance production. all i'm doing at the moment is slowly upgrading the last i dunno 10-20 buildings to level 5 to match the rest of my island buildings.
I don't play the game to take or expect anything from it all the time, i play for fun and to help others.

I give away a lot, I'm an officer in my guild and chat a lot, I recruited well over 50% of my guild, I help out in help channel and help out friends and new players. All of which are great but they complement rather than replace gameplay imo. There's less fun to be had when there's little to do. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
