Bored level 50, what now?

If you could produce granite on your island you'd just level up everything to level 5 with a fraction of the effort that it currently takes. How do you think that the game would become more interesting that way? That would neutralize any challenge from the game. The reason why the game becomes boring at lv50 is because there is no more challenge. By purposefully making one of the last limited resources in the game easily obtainable, you would just make the game more boring.

I have every building that I care for at level 5, around 90k granite stacked up and even if there was a Granite Mason which would produce 50 Granite per day (you know, speed could be slow, like 3 hours for a chunk - making buffing useless as well): Cannon forge level 5 would take nearly a year with 4 such masons, while my Explorers bring back roughly 1k granite per day from medium searches, free of charge.

Then again, I agree with you that -especially lv50's- don't need extra ways of obtaining granite. They have more than plenty; what they need is something else to do.
Mostly, new buildings doing totally new fancy things:
Fr instance, a shipyard that lets you send off ships (similar to explorers) with trade goods [great sink for lowlevel resources!], obtaining random unique rewards may be one thing.
And then, let us build these ships with Exotic Planks, giving them a use beyond upgrading our island :-)

BB/Ubisoft is destroying (had a chance to create a great settlers online game) a unique gameplay style with the great title as the settlers, this game is becoming a collection game of buildings with a dull gameplay and almost nothing good as the settlers was 21 years ago.
They are going on with no enthusiasm,and they have a community... not for the real settlers fans.
I believe as someone else mentioned,they might have found the best way for sucking out real money of this online game as they show no enthusiasm for gameplay, but weirdly makes it very addictive. (credits for that)
Its a shame at 2014 with Blue Byte who created a great game serie, now just want fast cash it feels and totally ignores the old fans of the game serie.
