Most memorable moment in gaming history

I was just wondering, what is everyone's most memorable moment in gaming history?

I have two moments that, for me, tie for the number one slot...

So what's everyone else's most memorable gaming moments?

legend of zelda - ocarina of time 1998. (water temple was mind blowing)

sensible world of soccer 1994. (this game at almost every professional team in the whole world, manage any team in any country. was a ground breaking database)

got loads more but there the first two that come to mind. great topic by the way

I agree Ryuisnod, Ocarina of Time is up there on my list - I still occasionally play it even now, and have completed it several times (even my kids have completed it)!
I think in that game, the most memorable moments include the first time I entered Hyrule in the future and walked past one of the ReDeads, and it rises up with a groan and screams at me. Also trying to shoot Poes from horseback, trying to escape from Gerudo's Fortress, and using Hover Boots for the first time in the Shadow Temple...

I never had a NES, so I don't remember that one, but I do remember the first time I defeated Bowser in Super Mario 64, on the N64!

have 2, when I was so much younger than today, early 1970's, I played my first game, was a simple console game that plugged into the black n white television, called ping pong,(tennis type) with a dial at each end, one for each player, to move the flat bat (bar) up and down, to hit the cube (ball) back and forth.
2nd being when they first bought out the original stand up space invader game to the local shop, played it for hours, late 1970's

I shall go more recent for my standout gaming memories, in fact both current generation.

The ending of Tales Of Vesperia moved me to tears, seriously after investing over 80 hours into the game only for it to end the way it did, well BamCo sure do know epic RPG's.

Unlocking and reading all the dreams in Lost Odyssey. Realising just how much pain and anguish that being imortal brings it made me realise that maybe eternal life just isnt worth it.
