It's not really "browser game" as it's not HTML based. It's a flash game. Has anybody thought about packaging it within Adobe Air? There are plenty of Flash games that have been repackaged to work within Air, and then portability is a non-issue. Flash is dead, remember :P
I have an old Galaxy S2 and I can usually get the game to work for about 2 minutes at a time before crashing - usually enough time to send out Geos and Explorers, so I bought a new S4 thinking the better processor and memory would fix this, unfortunately not the case I have managed to get in to the game on the new phone (using Firefox) but doesn't last as long meaning I can only send one specialist before having to reload (which is a pain in the [ backside ]). So yes I suppose I didn't buy a device to fulfill my requirements for this game - but then no new Android device officially supports flash, so which device would you recommend?
The way things are going the developers must be thinking of other platforms for the game as Flash is disappearing and becoming obsolete, (meaning more security flaws that won't be updated). Surely they want the game played by as many people as possible to increase the income, I realise it may cost more to develop for other platforms but then they can increase the price of gems to recoup losses because that'd be a better idea than decreasing them to get more sales (please note there may be sarcasm here).
I am considering leaving the game as it struggles to run on my home laptop (yes I have a PC which is hardly ever turned on and I won't be using it just to play this game) pretty much the whole computer market is heading to tablets (unfortunately) and so surely if Bluebyte/Ubi plan to keep this game longterm (with as many people playing as possible) then they have to develop something for other platforms/devices.
On a side note If someone would like to tell me how I can get the game to run better on my phone I'd appreciate it cheers.
Please be careful on words used,

i have tried settlers online on android it doesnt work so good can only load map but its unplayble, cant almost press anything.
Android App would be very nice!
The argument that flash is disappearing and becoming obsolete ignores one simple fact. You're using flash to play the game right now. Even if they announce no more new flash updates ever, the fact BB are using flash knocks the argument for hoops.
On a mobile device like a phone you will never ever see the screen resolutions that larger devices enjoy, this means on a phone the game will never play the same way, some of the longer range blocks will be impossible to do since you will have to do a lot more scrolling of the map between your garrison and target camp. To get the game to run on a phone would need complete redesign of the UI, even then you would have current phones which would cause problems due to their particular screen resolution. Apple have announced they are working on a Iwatch, are you going to be demanding a app for that.
You'd have to question what use the app would be, would it allow you full game access, or just access to doing things like the trade office, sending out explorers and geologists, refilling deposits and general stat information.
That'd work nicely on a phone that wouldn't need to run off flash, just need to talk directly the BB's back end servers. That'd be very handy for players without having to give everyone the full game content.
I'd say that's well worth a development! (Mostly because I can't play the game at work but still want to be "connected in")
I'm more than likely working right now.
Lol, be nice if the devs spoke to the 'back end servers'.
I could suggest a few choice remarks.![]()

Does not work by default on a tablet. Simply because Android is no longer support Flash Player.
However, doesn't mean it's impossible.
Just check out this link to see how you can get Flash Player working:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xA2erlhALA
But unfortunately, after doing so the game is still not working except with FireFox. For all the others, the game starts initialising the login queue and gets stuck.
Also with FireFox you can't play the game:
1) Cancel, Close and Accept buttons are not working.
2) The only way to navigate through your map is via the camera, which is exactly what you don't want to do on a tablet.
3) Everything is verrrry slow.
4) You cannot open your menus since clicking on it does not work.

Hello,
Long time ago I stop to use my android to play the settlers cause it stop to update FLASH on it and my browsers don't support it anymore. Now have no time to even be in Guild, I just resign from it and have limit my time on settlers at the same time.
There is a solution which could help a lot for many though. If we could use some client to login via app which we could download from our store
That could make me more back in this game and at least my performance would be higher and I could get back to guild again.
What do you think???
Settler Peter.
Play on puffin browser or photon browser. need to pay it
