Of course you can also mail yourself the reminder(s) via the ingame mail system.
While the popup menu when clicking on you avatar shows the "Send Mail" disabled, you can open the mail window, click "New Mail" and then manually fill in your own name

I have actually suggested the same. My problem is that I'm playing on 3-4 different PC's, so the notepad solution really isn't that great. i'd like a link and note section, so I have easy access to links to adv. guide, battle simulator, loot description etc... so I'd definitely +1 this suggestion.
Presently I get a guild member to send me the link etc I need, but the mailbox gets cluttered with lots of mails on this account. (I didn't know that it was possible to send a mail to yourself as Fexno suggest though... that would minimize the mailbox, but I'd still like the other soulution)
Perhaps a new tab/button in the new mail system could be an easy fix to it.
How about an option to actually filter ingame messages by sender?
That should do and also deal with the clutter ...
I would like it if this game had a notebook in game for each player to record anything they need. A place where you could remind yourself what your working on in the game next when you log off. Also to remind yourself of what time your upgrades will be done.

send a mail to yourself
If you are in a guild you can create a note in the guildshield

I use 'Notepad' and keep it on my bottom task bar then just cancel it when i log out unless i want to keep rolling it over. Or 'One Note' is good. Failing that there are loads of apps for sticky notes etc. or a google doc to do list. All one click away or leave open alongside the game in a separate window.
I prefer a note outside of the game so i dont have to log in to look.
I send messages to myself and if someone else is involved I ask them to send me a message stating the thing I need to remember in the subject line so I don't actually have to open the message
