Right now the game sucks if playing for the chat, the co-op or the sense of community ;-(
It looks like they moved the servers from Rackspace UK to Ubisoft network in France and put all the chat servers and game server redirectors to the same server (same IP-address) and it's not handling the load.
Chat crashing repeatedly again tonight...
...at almost the exact same time as last night.
This cannot be a coincidence!
To me it seems like the chat messages are heavy filtered into different tabs. Main chat is News, rest is extended. The extended chat requires permission, ie not being banned. When that check fails, chats will reset.
Whispering someone banned from (extended) chats will also reset your chat.
chat crashing again tonight for several in my guild including me. I also got a 'we are shutting down for maintenance message" and booted straight out the game.
