No. Nice idea, but players don't need strongest units. Already is possible play 7-8 Bk/RB per day (if you have enough time).
Main problem for players is time, not units strength

First strike for petards (cannons). Did you realize what that means ??
That means all camps without first strike units = 0 losses

yes it will also mean that there is room for more interesting enemy to defeat, there is the deserter cannoneers, militia and soldiers for example, why not petards, pikemen and knights?

also to you jollyfog2012 there is very little to actually add on to the game it is already there, just need to remove the troops and add more ones to replace them, also to add the new troops may be just to increase the database to accommodate the new troops and stats, in either case in my opinion the biggest thing would mean graphics for the academy may need to be created and also the new troops may need to be designed

as in the old paper, stone, scissors routine. petards can be defeated by scorpions, scorpions by knights, knights by blowgunners, blowgunners by fiskars, fiskars by whipmasters, so there are a few possibilities out there to hinder the new troops, especially if the enemy troops have first strike option engadged

I'd rather see 5 or 10 more levels, musketeers (first strike, 60% acc, 90-120 dam or w/e would make it interesting w/o making XB and K obsolete) and new tougher adventures, than more (bigger) changes to current content.

The OP's suggested top tier (xbow, elite, cannon) upgrades are both too cheap and too powerful... Where is the challenge in the game when a few thousand gc worth of materials will get a player a general packed with first strike units with huge damage?

I'd rather see stronger opponents instead... There's not a single adventure in the game that a lv50 player can call "hard". Even the Epic raid adventures, which are 3-player adventures with a 12 day time limit, can be cleared by a single player in some 4-8 hours. Furthermore, the time spent doesn't correlate with difficulty; it's mainly due to the long walks on the map :P

well that sounds like a lot of fun, i just hope that they can only be usable against more adventures that take longer and offer more rewards
