I just found out about the early start of the maintenance and I will investigate this issue. It is my goal to avoid this type of situations in the future as I understand it's an inconvenience for you guys.

It's more than an inconvenience. I had just got back in from work and was frantically trying to log on to turn off the expensive production chains as their buffs were running out - this was about 1 hour to 45 mins before maint was due. So a bunch of expensive resources as well as some gold mines got toasted there.
I know what approximately means, and 5-15mins either side would be acceptable. I would like to know if some kind of compensation for those resources would be appropriate?

There was a mix-up caused by time zones. Due to a bank holiday, another team handled the maintenance.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Never used to be a problem when maint was around 8am, as we were all fast asleep, and the servers used to come back about 1:15pm, perfect time to sit with a coffee and bowl of Rice Krispies and get the day going.
Oh, those were happy days.
