can we implement an opt out for events?
i come on the computer during things like the world cup to get away from it.
if there is no opt out, can sombody give me the end date, cos i'm sitting this one out.

No you can't opt out and I don't believe there is an end date published yet.
The advent calendar runs for a month, that might be a clue.
