Agree with jonno697, think that would relieve many players minds knowing whats happening with all the stuff asked for years ago and over and over again. I understand there's a lot of frustration not getting answers about a lot of stuff and I do not see why there couldn't be a simple short answer to most of the things being asked for. If something is hard to implement into the game or even isn't possible at least people would know about it if there was some information about it and hopefully this blog is a step into that direction. A sensible debate and two-way communication is the key.

for a moment I thought they were planning a new *summer-event*. Hmm, strange timing of a dev-blog.

I know it's also a bit my own mistake, but... with all the fake warnings of *door available* when visiting an adventure, I actually missed a real warning and forgot to open a door at the start. It was just a normal door, and I decided to leave it closed for now. But it turns out the yellow doors only open when you have all previous ones opened, unlike the normal doors. I only found out today. I had made my choice for those doors, clicked them on the right days.... and had to pay 200 gems to open them today. Yes it's in the description. It's a game though, I'm making long days at work where I've got to pay attention to tiny details and making sure you dont designs things this way where it's so easy to overlook.

More important: I think the continous flood of more specialists, more free things to speed up production. It used to be a slow game where you had to plan things carefully. Use buffs wisely to speed up things, save a drill sergeant for the right time to do a adventure-rush. But now.... I dont have to plan anything, the only problem is time. The new martialarts general again made adventuring lots easier. Troops & resources required are drastically reduced.

It's also a problem for future events. It's almost impossible to find a way to keep events fun for newer people without Lucky explorers, experienced explorers, martial arts fellow, veterans, grim reapers.... and at the same time make it difficult enough for the people who have all of those specialists. It's just a short-term fix to keep a bunch of players happy, but I think making the game so much easier actually takes away the joy of working towards an achievement and the settler-idea of planning and managing your Island with a little care.

Ah That could explain why I didn't get a door available notice on a couple of occasions half way through, as I was adventuring, and like you had to pay gems the next day as I missed one. I didn't get any `fake' ones on the adventures though. After the first one I ignored the notice and just made sure I visited the calendar every log in so was only 50 free gems down ( It hurt more having to sell my beloved pumpkins to buy springs and shoes to finish the final )
Personally I think the biggest problem in the game `balance' at the moment is with the bottleneck of level 50 players not having a use for what has become `low level' resources. The game mechanic of higher level resources for higher level buildings and upgrades worked fine to level 50, but once many of the players on the server were there or thereabouts, the quantity of these resources and trade prices meant it was easier and quicker for low level players to add themselves to the `bottle neck' .
What is needed is an event or crisis quest to take out a lot of this `surplus low level resource, but rather than it being a click fest resource sink as BB have done in the past, make it of value to the game and its players by allowing them build something new and useful over time, the options are only limited by the devs imagination ( or their ability to read the suggestion forum . Port, hospital, treasury, castle/ president residence any of which could be the focus point of so many requested in game functions to reinvigorate the game)
I think it would be far better for BB to make the `Golem' island for players to create something personal to them over time, than keep it for a once in a blue moon spawning event. In reality what do I expect we'll get......An Artic Coal mine
Are we to be told of adventure changes or not? 1 Month on and still SNEAKY RB changes have not been mentioned

The event has been broken from start to end. End of story. Congratulations on a performance as good as Brazil's.

    EDIT:

Now the event is over I can clarify that the above comment was due to a last day bug, mirroring the first day bug, where some people were able to get an extra storehouse from the calendar.

It's not like the calendar was a brand new feature, nor was there a lack of bug reports on the test server.

    Oops...

Are you a casual or part-time player? Don't want a chatty guild or expect lots of support?
And do you want the chance to earn a few guild coins but don't want to be forced to do guild quests on a daily basis?

Then join GQS (Guild Quests (STILL!) Suck) on Northisle!
Mail Gerontius here or in game for an invite.

Good event. Complicated and needed a lot of planning.
In order to get enough shoes, bananas, springs and fists - you had to do a lot of adventures to get those collectibles from the loot.
Far better event than the boring EC 2012 event. (I still hate the collectibles-thing, being colourblind.)

Lvl 50's got that extra advantage that they could use Rain of Arrows/Ranged Support and/or Assasin/Weak Point Potions on the event matches.

But for making is easier for low-lvl's - BB failed totally. The opposite happend. Better luck next time. ;-)

So I'm annoyed that "the Match" takes up an adventure slot and you need to gather resources to finish the match and not know really what you need before starting , so a match can last for a few days.... But then I get the daily quest of do a specific adventure.... Oh thanks very much but it may take a couple of days to get this blasted match out of the way!!!

On top of that I now have a huge amount of corners and barrels and cant seem to flog then so I can buy the springs, shoes and studs I need to get rid of this blasted match!!!

Oh and I now have headers and red cards coming out of my ears and cant flog them either ¬¬
