Newbie question about starter pack

I know the value of things are relative, but this pack really helps a player start the game much more easily or it just only a minor convenience ?

What exactly is inside it? Because there is zero description. I only see increase gems value (3500) but it have some others icons like a cube with an A/B/C ...dunno what that means (or even if that means something).

Starter Packs in the gem shop are only for gems.

Yes, they were pitched back when the game was quite a bit different. With the early levels now much easier, the price is probably too high for their real value nowadays.
Also a bit of a confusing term, as we also had "real" starter packs in the past.
These were purchased with real money, and contained a cd, booklet and voucher codes for in-game items and gems.
Been a few variants of these, the very first one was fantastic for the price, had the General Stronghelmet, a watermill, a silo some resources and gems. Sold out very quickly and sought after for ages after.
later variants struggled to match this, rather under-powered for the price, with perhaps the exception of the infamous "Premium Pack", which never made it to these servers ( Hard version was german only, although a download version was available for the Polish servers). This cost around 40 quid, but had the General Klotz (at that time very good), 2 copies of the Nords 2 adventure and other resources/buildings and of course gems. Released just as the End of the World event started, and gave a massive boost to the efforts where it was available. Expensive, but contained a lot.
Shame the idea hasn't been revisited, even a download version that would cost next to nothing to produce would surely work, so long as the contents were pitched right, like the original Starter and the Premium ones were.
