It might make sense from a balance point (I have no clue as I havn't tested it yet) but giving every unit Slash Dam makes me cringe.
If you hit a person hard enough that person will die, but it makes no sense that sticking your sword in a bit deeper than nessecery would woud the next guy.
The ability to do splash dam should imo remain a rare skill, reserved to only a few specialised units, not something the everyday thug, or peasant with a bow can do.
I like that weapons as loot are removed and hope that makes the final version. About time I say.
Lastly, here is a short overview about what hasnt been changed yet, but is currently still being evaluated for possible adjustments:
General adventure balancing (unit deployment and camp positions)
Cavalry costs
Unit beer costs
Adventure rewards besides weapon removal
Balancing of Generals

Some of the current changes look nice.
But I would like to quote one specific change and it is the "Balancing of Generals" one. - and it is that if you nerf and change something with Master of Martial Art's general and make it worse then he currently is, eg. delete the first strike skill etc. Note that I want him out of my starmenu and 6,999 gems refunded back to my account, thank you.
Have read the stuff on test, and everything looks good, EXCEPT one very important omission: the TIME it takes to produce high level units needs to be reduced. There is no mention in the test server info of things that HAVE or WILL be changed of adjusting the timing of the production buildings, only the resource cost.
Of course, when I say this looks good, I mean from the perspective of it should have been done a year or two ago, not now. Now, you will get nothing but complaints from long term players upset that their island balance is messed up... Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about that since changes along these lines have obviously been necessary for a very long time.
It's yet to be seen whether these changes will actually fix the game balance, of course. But at least it looks like a good first effort. And I do mean "first effort" in that I really hope that the stock phrase "The final version may differ" is true this time rather than just something that is said to deflect complaints until the features are made live and it's too late to do anything.

Are you a casual or part-time player? Don't want a chatty guild or expect lots of support?
And do you want the chance to earn a few guild coins but don't want to be forced to do guild quests on a daily basis?

Hmm so after all this rebalancing, adventureguides and combat simulators are not working anymore... so less adventuring for a while....
That and there is still one major problem not adressed:
MAKE MORE TROOPS (625) IN 1 GO !!!
I hate building 25 recruits all the time, try to make 5000 like that....

Having just failed doing an IOTP on test using MoMa first sector with recruits. Before this goes live obtainable medipacks are going to be a must, put them in loot instead of weapons or give us the chance to make them in a new building.
Finally those very expensive production buildings will have a use but don't forget to balance their resource requirements and their building/upgrade costs, to match all these changes.
If your changes include the moving of camps with the intention to prevent blocks...DON'T
Are we to be told of adventure changes or not? 1 Month on and still SNEAKY RB changes have not been mentioned
There are bugs, which might be fixed, and there is balancing which might or might not be done well, but there is only one piece of vital feedback I have on this entire update
The battle report system MUST be totally overhauled
If the reports are not made more detailed with user control about watching them and seeing which bonus attacks/hits were made or weren't made, then any chance at all of this new and improved battle system being more fun and exciting will be lost.
It MUST be done, or all of this is just pointless.
