    I agree that there are a number of possible interpretations of what BB have said which may mean bigger changes will happen, but suggest that is speculation rather than fact at the moment.
    People are taking educated guesses, your home island is largely supposed to be cleared using recruits, militia, longbows, soldiers and cavalry. Changes will probably go unnoticed until maybe sector 9. The lower adventures such as Island of the Pirates, Dark priests and Tropical Sun will see some slightly heavier losses but nothing game breaking. But when you get into the realms of Epic adventures and Fairytale you going to see massive changes, instead of being able to sacrifice lots of recruits your going to be forced to lose higher tier troops.

    The timeline for the changes will most probably be quite long, can you imagine how game breaking it could be to unleash this amount of change all at once, BB will have to be sure the have a game that still works. Given that they introduce a lot of bugs just activating events these days I for one cannot see how these changes can take place and some compromise might take place and elements might be introduced.

    The game came out of Beta testing some while ago and to my mind what has been suggested is putting it firmly back to an Alpha test state, many people will be very unhappy if they log in day after day and the game is unplayable.

    Looking at the reviews of TS8, one gets the impression that certain excellent suggestions have not been implemented in TSO because BB wanted them in TS8 only.

    You are confusing the new combat system (closed Beta and non-disclosure agreements) with the rebalancing of the current system (live on test now). The rebalanced combat system, in whatever form they finally settle on, will affect everything we currently have.

    The new combat system will apply to new - as yet undisclosed - content, leading to rumours of PvP finally being implemented in some form.

    Players want to stack the 121231284712397349128 items in star menu where it's impossible to find anything (PRIO 1)
    Players want to remove the Barracks Clickfest (PRIO 2)
    Players want more island space (PRIO 3)

    ... what should we give them?

    Ahh ... yes!
    A rebalanced combat system which will help with neither Top1 nor Top2 but will require them to use more island space to get less done with more effort...
    That should fix it!

    They just don't bother reading the forums. They claim they do but they are obviously not. They don't even listen to bug reports from the test server and let bugs that was reported just go on through to the live server.

    I still believe that BB got the term code monkey wrong and got a flange of baboons to do their coding for them.

    Never fix what is not broken. There are tons of bugs and annoying features in the game people have been complaining about for years. Yet BB tries to implement new buggy and unwanted features instead of fixing the old ones.

    Only one thing is important in game development: listening the community. Anything else is irrelevant. The community does not only give you all the necessary information and bug reports, but it also pays money to you for you doing so. Thus there is never a need to hire consultants, additional development managers or content designers. (btw. this consulting cost 400 euros, I'll send you an invoice later).

    I hope this update will be pulled back and BB will do something useful instead, as this "re-balancing" may drive off a big number of the long term players (which often snowballs deserting the whole community).

    You are under this assumption that (1) BB listens to it's customers (2) this battle system is designed for our benefit, when it clearly is not..it's designed to sell more refills.
