Well done BB for bringing back the feature that retains the shop for a week after pumpkins can be found and thereby enables more people to buy more things. This was missing from the last few events so its good to see that BB have changed their mind here and brought back a feature that had seemed gone forever.
Maybe someone within BB_Towers really does listen to feedback and takes decisive action.

    Well done I say.

Oh and I thought this even was going to be rubbish and a gem fest for pumpkins. So its good to also see a wider range of adventures bringing back an opportunity to win pumpkins in the loot. Another sign of BB listening.

I have to ask, Why have you reduced the length of the event? Last year we had 28 days of the complete active event, this year we have 21 days to collect pumpkins within the full event, then we have +7days of just the shop.

According to .net where the question was also asked: here and was just recently answered here everyone still starts with Stone Golems then work their way up through Greater and Ancient Golems based on player level, as seen on the Test. This really is not how the Diary phrases it so it's nice to have it clarified.

    EDIT: Update

    Dear Settlers,

some questions regarding the Golem and its difficulty levels were raised.
Also, the level ranges that determine the Golem type a player receives have been updated.

Halloween Golem 2014 - More information

Last year had some Golem tech issues and "Removal phase 1" was pushed back by a week to try to give people a chance to make up for the time lost to glitches. That meant the event and the shop were removed at the same time instead of a week apart. Here's the [Dev Diary] Halloween Event Update (2013) for it.

It's shifting removal times like this from events past that make it important BB consistently publicize the Shop removal time of active events and not keep it tucked away in a late FAQ as happened with Football. Even without bugs the event time/removal time vary, as seen when the Calendars are in play. "Common knowledge" and "rule of thumb" can't really be relied on anymore.

Even with out specifics to one event, 21 days is less than the historic normal, where we see on average 28-35, 35 being an estimate. but regardless if its 33 or 34, 21 is way short.

Very very roughly, excluding bugs and extentions and "let's do it this way this time"s it's generally been 3 weeks of active event followed by one week of shopping. Until the Calendar came along at least, when that's active it's been 4 weeks of active event and shopping. Roughly.

Where and when this info has been posted has varied enormously, from timely posts in the forum, on the homepage and on both Twitter and FB all at once, down by degrees to a surprise removal with no warning at all.

The Football Dev Diary was released after the event had started and didn't include an end date. That was confirmed later and later still came info on the shop removal time.

With the second Event Calendar active both the event and the shop were removed at the same time and the dates, pulled from the homepage for the start date and multiple posts for the rest, were:

    Start: 13.06.2014
End (event and shop): the early hours of the 15th of July 2014.

9th of April 2014 (after maintenance): Start
30th of April 2014 (with maintenance): Removal phase 1
7th of May 2014 (with maintenance): Removal phase 2

Removal phase 1 = Deactivation of event, event shop category remains // Removal phase 2 = Event shop category deactivated
This Easter had the same quest timing issues as 2013 but they were sort of just glossed over.

The Christmas 2013 event will start after the maintenance on 12th of December 2013.
The whole event will be turned off on 09th of January 2014.
With the first ever Event Calendar active Christmas 2013 was removed all in one go, event and shop.

Halloween 2013 Started 17th of October 2013, if it hadn't needed changes "Removal phase 1" would have been 7th November and "Removal phase 2" 14th November.

    THE EASTER EVENT – DATES
Start: DAY, 21st of March 2013
    Remove I: 11th of April 2013
Remove II: DAY, 18th of April 2013
There was a bit of a hiccup with quest timings but on the whole the dates held: [Quick Update] Easter removal I Search for eggs issue INFO

The date for "Removal phase 1" for Christmas 2012 wasn't announced till after it happened: [Dev Update] Maintenance this morning, X MAS phase 1 complete., but the dates were, I think:

    Start: 05.12.2012
    Removal phase 1: 02.01.13
    Removal phase 2: 08.01.13

If those are right this was also a longer one.

It is our great pleasure to announce that the awesome and terrifying Halloween event will launch on October the 18th! It will then come to a close and rest in eternal slumber on November the 8th!
The exclusive Halloween content will be removed from the Shop two weeks after that. (November the 22nd)
The two weeks to shop were unusual.

Football 2012 started Wednesday 6th of June.

Later came more complete info on removal timing.

The EC-Event has been running for some time now.
This event will be taken offline in two steps: first step on the 5th of July, second step on the 12th of July.
This one was a long one.

All clear? "Not really..." you say? Agreed.

Little of this and a little of that then, Still think 3 weeks isn't enough for working folk, hard enough finding the time normally let alone within a 3 week window once a year.
