A way to ease the graphics lag

Disabling the hardware acceleration from the flash setting helps with some of the lag in the game.

Right click on the game, select "Settings" and untick the "Enable hardware acceleration"

I have done this and clear my caches, browser, flash and dns. The first two caches just after I log off each week prior to maintenance. I have far fewer problems with the game than others.

Removing hardware acceleration is a good general tip for running flash. It is a source of problems for all implementations. It's one of those features that just wont work properly. So uncheck it even if you don't have issues with Settlers. The hardware acceleration has been a joke and a source of trouble ever since it was first introduced back in 2011.

This is indeed a way to ease the graphics lag (I've had it turned off all the time.), but not a fix for the insane lag related to "special weeks".
25/11-14 , 23/02-16 .. The end is coming and it will look like this .

Turning off the hardware acceleration option did nothing further to help my situation. At least, nothing apparent to me anyway. Indeed, the only way I have found to ease the graphical issues at all is by avoiding any other website that even remotely uses flash. Unfortunately this includes, amongst others, every combat simulation site I have bookmarked, as well as any site that may have a flash powered advert... not exactly and ideal solution, which is far from eradicating the problem. This implies to me, though I confess I am no expert, that something in this update is straining the limits of what flash is capable of.

Combat simulators should be used in a different browser to the game, it stops the problems mentioned above

So you're trying to blame combat simulators for the insane lag? Even when none is/has been used?

No,it was merely a response to Ozzy's post that anything else running flash based content such as the combat sim messes with the game, which it does, it can cause freezes and crashes. I didn't say it was responsible for lag/poor programming.

Might want to use this sim then, no flash : goo.gl/usr0UO
works great, the multiple wave feature is brilliant for the new fairies.

also noticed no difference turning off hardware acceleration.
