Eggman
definately
if like i did in past just send random troops attack and hope for best odds are you will fail
BUT
if you choose one your interested in, go have a look at it see what troops are defending and pathway you need to take you can plan ahead take correct troops you need to win the battles then its all down to if you set defence up right to hang on to it or not.
At the moment i keep doing them to try work out the best way to use guardsmen as i have worked out the other 6 troop types just them keep puzzling me how to use them most effectively so its all trial and error and experimenting with them at the moment for me but i do also plan ahead like you said and take right troops i would need to complete and win also
I'm playing pvp now, though not too extensively. Production of weapons in the armory is expensive, slow and a LOT of clicks and slides to get something done. I do find the pvp quite entertaining though. A list of plus and minus:
plus:
* New combat system is more balanced and entertaining than the adventures system, I like playing it. Sending the right combinations, staying with the marshal to redeploy troops in battle. Its a step up.
* I like setting up the defenses for the next player to fight against. Its a new challenge and it really gets you thinking and calculating.
* Rewards are ok, although I have decided for myself not to play pvp for the gains, because:
minus:
* it's extremely expensive in terms of iron, iron ore, time and clicks (I can live with everything except the clicks though)
* You're barely fighting another player. Knowing who you're fighting would be something (for trolling in chat, ofcourse). A realtime defense of the colony would be a huge step up, although I realize that would be quite a challange for the server
* Defense options are quite minimal. Many of the build locations are completely out of the way, forcing you to focus on one or two defense posiitions.
* Rewards. As stated, I don't play for the rewards. But the iron produced by a colony in six hours is consumed on my island in minutes time. The ratio is way off there.
Suggestions for quick wins:
rewards: save up for unique decorations. Most of us players are really suckers for those ;-)
armory: let us build weapons much faster!
pvp: show us who we are fighting
Today i played last PvP till they fix something about teleportation, other sector camps intercepting or at least make those camps also with red area around them and today new bug is war dogs camp showed 60 dogs killed 100... dont know where did they come from or how they appeared...
I am doing my first colony right now and find the defences way to taxing on the limited troops even when I am using the right counters, swapping troops and blocking but the lag makes near impossible to do this. 380 troops down still with two sectors to go, the troop balancing needs better work.
If I throw Attacking infantry at bandit cavalry it should be a 2:1 ratio not a 1.5:1 ratio.
Same with the other classes.
Too costly with resources to play pvp.
The rewards are pathetic.
This is typical of big game companies (something I am studying at the moment with my diploma of digital and interactive games) as they never listen to the beta testers, rush to push the content out and then are having to release non stop patches to fix bugs which could have been avoided by listening to the beta testers in the first place.
[removed] UBI with AC:Unity, etc....
Marketing is killing the games industry and this pvp is a prime example of what goes on in the industry.
This is not the developers fault, it comes down to the marketing department who set ridiculous deadlines for the devs to meet causing broken or buggy content to be released.
Hello Damocracy,
Please don't advertise non-ubisoft games on the forums.
Thank you,
