To be fair, there have been updates posted on the front page:

Further improvements will be deployed on Wednesday (17th) between 09:00 and 11:00am 12.30pm 13.30 GMT, a gift package will be sent the same day

12.10 pm GMT: The deployment end time has been pushed to 13.30 GMT.
10.25 am GMT: The deployment end time has been pushed to 12.30 pm GMT.
09.40 am GMT: Servers went down.

But yeah, very annoying...

tbh if they need to fix somethink they need to fix somethink. bugs and problems will always occur even with a test server.
