    [Dev Diary] Midsummer Night Special

    Hello fellow Settlers,

    Before anyone asks: No, we are not going to introduce fairies flying around on your island. .
    With Easter 2015, a new event resource was introduced. Former Easter Eggs couldn't be used in the last event.
    We promised a new use for former event resources (Christmas 2014, Halloween 2014, Easter 2014 & Summer 2014 Event),
    as each upcoming event will introduce a new unique event resource.

    • Start: 30th of June 2015 (activated during maintenance)
    • Duration: 3 weeks
    • End: 21st of July 2015 01.00 AM BST

    All former event resources can be converted to tokens and used to purchase items from former events.
    Once the event ends, all remaining event resources will be exchanged to gold coins.

    Important information about the item limits:
    Some event items are limited to the given amount per player for this year's Midsummer Night Special. If you already own the item (regardless of the amount) from a previous event, you can obtain the given amount of the item again this year.

    Exception: The limit won't be reset for Recipes, the Experienced Explorer and the Lucky Explorer.
    If their purchase limit was already met, they cannot be obtained again.

    Please feel free to leave your feedback here.

    Happy Midsummer!

    Appendix

    Important:
    Tokens are tradeable, same as all other former event resources.
    Remaining event resources will be converted into coins, approx. 1 week after the Midsummer Night Special has ended.

    Conversion rate: Resource to Token

    • 4 Eggs => 6 Tokens
    • 10 Footballs => 4 Tokens
    • 10 Pumpkins => 6 Tokens
    • 2 Presents => 3 Tokens

    Conversion rate: Token & Resources to Coins The calculated amount of Gold Coins for every single resource will be rounded up to the next whole Gold Coin. It will be attached to a mail and be sent to your in-game mailbox.

    • 1 Eggs => 1 Coin
    • 1 Football => 0.5 Coins
    • 1 Pumpkin => 0.4 Coins
    • 1 Present => 1 Coin
    • 1 Token => 0.75 Coins

    E.g.
    • 4 Eggs = 4 Gold Coins
    • 11 Pumpkins = 4,4 Gold Coins = 5 Gold Coins
    • 3 Tokens = 2,25 Gold Coins = 3 Gold Coins
    • 1 Football = 0,5 Gold Coins = 1 Gold Coin

    Questions & Answers

    • What happens to Pumpkin Cemeteries?
      They can be used during the next Halloween Event or be exchanged then. They won't be deleted, nor exchanged to Gold Coins.
    • Will Balloons be exchanged as well?
      The Balloons' only purpose was to be donated for a challenge. They have no in-game resource value and will just be deleted.
    • What happens to event collectibles (e.g. Egg Paint, Candy Cane)?
      Event collectibles can be used during future events as communicated in the Dev Diaries.
    • Is the Water Castle going to fit if two floating residences have been built in the middle of the island?
      Building spaces won't be affected by the construction of the Water Castle so everything will fit in fine.
