    [Dev Diary] XXL Level Cap Raise Pack

    XXL Level Cap Raise Pack - Island Expansion, Level 75, Arabian Nights Epic Raid, Storm Recovery Scenario & more

    Dear Settlers!
    With one of the next upcoming new game versions, the previously announced XXL pack will become available.
    A part of the XXL pack will be introduced weekly.
    The new version is planned to be deployed to the live servers end of September / early October.





    Let's start with the Level Cap Raise description, included features and details about Level 6 for all buildings.



    LEVEL 75


    The level cap will be raised from 50 to 75.

    • Every level 50 player starts with the same amount of Experience Points
    • Star Coins cannot be exchanged back to XP
    • 25 new levels will become available
    • 89 new main quests and
    • 28 new side quests will guide you through the new levels
    • 20 new Achievements will become available


    XP and Star Coins



    The star coin shop will remain available!
    Additionally there will be other opportunities to gain Star Coins.


    Experience Points won’t be converted into Star Coins anymore.

    Possible sources for Star Coins:
    • Main quests starting level 50
    • New buff quests
    • New adventures
    It hasn't been decided yet how Experience Points and Star Coins are handled once a player reaches level 75.
    The amount of Experience Points gained through completing level 50+ adventures, quests etc. will be very high.
    Converting them into Star Coins, as before, would result in a huge amount of Star Coins flooding the game economy.
    At some point, the system will be adjusted and balanced out in order to ensure it's functioning properly after level 75.

    We are searching for additional opportunities to provide Experience Points.



    Specialists: Additions



    • New exploration task to explore the archipelago
    • New treasure search task with new resources
    • New adventure search task with new adventures
    • New deposit search task for each of the new deposits (Granite, Titanium, Salpeter)



    Level 6 building upgrades






    Every building that could be upgraded to level 5 will be upgradable to level 6. Special buildings, with similar base production to normal level 5 buildings, cannot be upgraded. Most of the upgrades will need grout and granite.

    Sources for grout:
    • Reward chance for solving Arabian Nights adventures
    • Reward chance for defeating hard camps on the expandable islands
    • In the shop during events for event resources

    This time, it's all about more space: The Island Archipelago.

    ISLAND ARCHIPELAGO - KEY FACTS



    • Level 50+ feature

    • 10 new sectors (archipelago)

    • New enemy units with special rewards

    • Many extra building spots (land + water)

    • Additional deposits, but also introducing high-level ones

    NEW ENEMY UNITS // SPECIAL REWARDS


    Almost all sectors contain enemy camps with new units. These units are stronger and more challenging.
    In order to free up a sector, all leader camps must be defeated. It’s possible to win without using elite units.
    There are four types of camps
    • Fearsome Bandits Camp (easy)
    • Savage Bandits Camp (medium)
    • Bloodthirsty Bandits Camps (hard)
    • Threatening Bandit Leader’s Camp (leader)
    Defeating each of these camps is rewarded with Experience Points and awesome rewards like:
    • Grout
    • Mahogany Wood
    • Mahogany Planks
    • Platinum Ore
    • Star Coins
    • Granite
    • Exotic Planks
    • Buildings Licenses





    ADDITIONAL & NEW HIGH-LEVEL DEPOSITS


    The new sectors come with additional deposits, but also with rare resources not available on your main island.
    The new production chains will be explained in a Dev Diary later on.
    • Salpeter
    • Titanium
    • Granite
    • Exotic Wood
    • Gold Ore
    • Iron Ore
    Salpeter, Titanium and Granite have to be discovered by using the new Geologist tasks.
    Refill items will also be available and are rewarded for completing new adventures.



    HOW TO START CAPTURING NEW SECTORS?


    Do you want to take advantage of the new island archipelago?
    Level 50 triggers a tutorial quest which grants you the first sector. Just follow the instructions of Noble Ludwig to expand your kingdom and to improve your economy.


    There are sectors with new challenging enemy camps, but also unoccupied sectors. A new area must be free of opponents before you can claim it.
    A sector becomes part of your kingdom by using a "deed" buff.




    Let's have a look on the first steps for your kingdom's expansion...

    Use your explorer to reveal new sectors




    The tutorial quest grants you the first "deed" buff




    Use a "deed" buff to claim a (free) sector




    Build an "Island Storehouse" on the first sector to create a connection to your home island




    There are free, but also occupied sectors. You have to defeat all camps first.




    Once you claimed the first sector by building your Island Storehouse, move your generals there to fight against the enemies.



    Details about the new Epic Raids, Scenarios,
    new Production Chains and levels requirements,
    will become available in the next Dev Diaries.

    This time, we'd like to introduce the new Scenario: Storm Recovery

    STORM RECOVERY SCENARIO



    An anxious villager approaches the player asking for help.
    There was a serious storm on their island and the island's residents need help in rebuilding the village.

    The scenario can be found by conducting a very long adventure search.

    Key facts:


    • Level 50+ feature

    • Difficulty: 10+

    • Buff Scenario

    What's new?
    • This scenario uses fail conditions for the first time. The whole Scenario can be lost.
    • The challenge of this scenario is to keep track of the limited buffs and how to use them in order to solve the quest. Certain buffs can only be applied to specific targets. This creates situations where small puzzles have to be solved to continue.




    Storm Prevention Building



    Collectibles
    • Dead Crop: needed to produce Seeds in the provision house.
    • Stinky Mushroom: needed to produce Stinky Potion
    • Glowing Herb: needed to produce Decomposer
    • Flower: needed to produce Sticky Fluid


    Enemies
    • Rats: can be defeated with Poison or Stinky Potion
    • Worms: can be defeated with Stinky Potion only
    • Brittled Wood: can be defeated with Decomposer only
    • Debris: can be defeated with Shovel or Decomposer
    Stinky Potions and Decomposer are limited. Use them thoughtfully and avoid running out of a certain item. This is also the fail condition of the quest: If a certain item is not available anymore and the corresponding enemies are still undefeated, the Scenario is lost.

    • Chance on Star Coins
    • Chance on Platinum Ore
    • Chance on Mahogany Wood
    • Elixir
    • Machine Oil
    • Granite Refiller
    • Barazek Buff

    Buff Quests

    With a certain chance, special buff quests will be part of the reward.
    Each of the following buffs starts a special quest chain on the home island.

    A buff quest chain is started by applying the buff on the Mayor's house.


    • Chance on an intriguing Coin buff quest
    • Chance on an invitation to a royal wedding buff quest
    • Chance on a little Panda buff quest

    With the next new game version, the previously announced XXL pack will become available.

    Let us introduce another feature from the XXL pack: the "Arabian Nights" Epic Raids!

    EPIC RAID “Arabian Nights”





    Some key facts about "Arabian Nights":
    • 10 new adventures
    • Starring: Ali Baba, Sindbad & Aladdin
    • New desert setting with new enemy units
    • Challenging difficulty (10+)
    • Some of the adventures are designed for multiple players
    • New and existing resources as loot: Platinum, Mahogany Wood, Grout


    The first "Arabian Nights" Epic Raid can be found using the very long adventure search (unlocks at Level 56). By chance it will also be part of the rewards of "The Heroic Little Tailor" or "The Betrayed Little Tailor".

    Dear Settlers!
    With the next new game version, the previously announced XXL pack will become available.
    It's planned to deploy the new version on the live servers end of September / early October.
    The last part of this huge update are the new "Elite units".

    ELITE UNITS



    The new elite units can be produced inside the Elite Barracks. The production chains require old and new resources.
    Elite units are stronger and more efficient compared to the old units. They are required to keep losses low when playing the "Arabian Nights" Epic Raids and conquering the Archipelago. It’s not possible to combine elite and normal units with the same general. Both unit types can be used in an Epic Raid using more than one general. A button in the General's UI switches between normal and elite units. Since the elite units are very powerful compared to the enemies, they cannot be used in old adventures.


    Mounted Swordsman, Knight, Armored Marksman, Swordsman,
    Marksman, Mounted Marksman, Besieger

    Some of the new units don't only have more health points and a higher attack damage but also special skills:

    Knight
    • First strike

    Armored Marksman
    • Attack weakest

    Mounted Marksman
    • First strike
    • Splash damage

    Besieger
    • Last strike
    • Splash damage
