+1 for search function
In the avatar menu in the game we can choose All, friends, or guild and see whether they are online or not, sorted by level, then name, or in the case of guild, rank then level then name. I see there is enough space in the GUI for another category.
I would like to mark certain friends or guildies as favourite because I some times want to do something next time two or three specific players are online at the same time. With a favourite icon I could just mark those few as favourite and I would see them all on the same page and easily see who of them are online at any given time. As it is now, I usually need to find those two players separately because they are rarely sorted on the same page in guild, friend or all category.
I think this favourite feature should be completely independent one-way lists, so that I can have one list, without influencing the lists belonging to those other players.

Question: is the "all" section even needed? Why not have "guild" / "friends" / "new category" instead? Guild and friends are already overlapping to some extend, "all" is just putting all in one pot, which makes no sense because why would someone search through a huge "all" list anyways?
I don't think we need extra tabs just a way it is displayed.
Isn't there a way to change how your friends are displayed?
Now it is always sorted on level..
why not make the player choose how the list is sorted and displayed?
I'm thinking about options like:
* online - online active users are listed first
* favorites - make you own favorite list and put them first
* name - list them in alphabetical order
* level - we have that one already and some may find it useful ..
It would be much easier to find a friend or member that is active or favorite without having to scroll through a list of members.
Oh and while we talking about the Friendslist, is it possible to make it possible to manually refresh the list? or at least keep your focus?
It's very annoying when you have finally found the one you are looking for to disappear because the list is refreshed and to find yourself at the start of the list
so you have to start your search again....
My 2 cents

Add an online button to where the 'All', 'Friends' and 'Guild' buttons are so you can see who is online rather than having to scroll through a large list. I just sometimes want to see who is online without having to go through one of three lists to do it.

Hello fellow settlers.
I have been let's say struggling with Friends list menu for some time now and since we got improved star menu already I think it's only fair to get a new friends list menu with search ASAP...here's my suggestion:
menu1.png
Alternative: http://prnt.sc/cejkv0
On the left side:
Current Add friend & Invite via e-mail buttons can be in one row which can allow to use the second row as search.
On the right side:
The last unused "button" under Guild could serve as three other options:
- Favorites (your most used contacts)
- Adventure contacts for you adventure - invitees
- Adventure contacts where you are invited
Maybe the last two (adventure related) are not that needed and maybe there will be some better suggestion (like A-Z sorting without lvl) if more people like this idea, but it's a start.
Have fun.

I like the idea, especially the search and favorite functions
+1
Since (for a variety of reasons) the friends list tends to keep growing, some kind of control would be nice. If there was simply search and favorites it would solve all my needs.
Sorry, but I've slept since then...
