    [Dev Diary] Halloween Event 2015

Halloween 2015: More information about the upcoming event

The 2015 Halloween Event is creeping up on us so get ready for Zombies and Pumpkins to invade your island again.
The event will include features from previous years, but also new content. New aspects & changes are highlighted in blue colour.
The Halloween event is activated immediately after the corresponding maintenance (see dates below).

    EVENT SCHEDULE
    Start: 20th of October
Removal phase 1: 10th of November
Removal phase 2: 17th of November
    Requirements: Level 19

    EVENT RESOURCE "PUMPKINS"
    • Availability: Only during the Halloween event
    • Benefit: You can acquire special items for pumpkins in the Halloween shop category
    • Trade: The pumpkins are tradable like regular resources
    • Removal: Check removal phase details as event resources and Halloween items are available only for a limited time!

You can get the event resource by...
    • Unlocking Halloween 2015 Achievements
    • Collecting pumpkins that spawn on your home island (chance for pumpkins to spawn is higher than last year)
    • Winning rewards for defeating Golems
    • Completing Halloween Quests
    • Producing them with Pumpkin Cemeteries
    • Trading with other players
    • Item gifts from friends
    • Finishing several adventures might lead to pumpkin drops (Clicking the "?" inside the Info Widget reveals the adventure list)
    • Buying pumpkin packages in the Shop

Again, there are 3 types of Golems to be defeated. Your level defines which of the golems shows up:
    • Rock Golem (Level 1* - 25)
    • Greater Golem (Level 26 - 35)
    • Ancient Golem (Level 36 - 75)
*The spawn area of the Golems (middle of your home island) must be revealed/explored to see the Golem. You can see Golem with level 1, but level 19 is required to fight against Golems! It takes one day for Golems to respawn after you defeated one (like last year). Each Golem type has 5 difficulty levels which means that the same Golem gets stronger until you defeated him for the 5th time. He has reached his maximum strength and will keep it. With each respawn of a new Golem, your level is checked to spawn a mightier Golem in case you reached a new level range (26 or 36).

In order to destroy the Golems, you need to produce specific buffs in the Provision House.

    Halloween 2015: Removal steps 1+2

The Halloween event will be turned off in two steps. Both deactivation phases happen with the corresponding game maintenance.
This brief FAQ will provide you with some detailed information about each phase.

    REMOVAL PHASE 1 - November 10th
    • What does Removal phase 1 basically mean?
The core mechanisms of the event will be turned off, but the event shop category will remain until Removal phase 2.
This means you have one additional week to get special event items for Pumpkins.

    • Can I still collect Pumpkins in Removal phase 1?
Pumpkins that spawned before the maintenance can still be collected. However, after the collectible items are newly refreshed in Removal phase 1, no new Pumpkins will spawn.

    • What happens to Halloween Quests that are not finished?
The event quest chains will be cancelled.

    • When will Pumpkins be removed from the (special) adventure loot ?
Is the start or the end time of the adventure relevant?

If the adventure was started before Removal Phase 1, but was only finished after Removal Phase 1 was activated, no Pumpkins will be included in the loot. Adventures started in or after Removal Phase 1, don't provide Pumpkins.

    • Is it possible to create event items?
The creation of "Banshee's Scream" and "Werewolf's Howl" (as well as the Golem buffs) are related to the Halloween event. Therefore this option will be turned off. If you started to produce an event item shortly before the Removal phase 1 maintenance, this item will be finished even after Removal phase 1. Same goes for completed items: You can still pick them up after Removal phase 1.

    • What happens to the Golem buffs in my Star Menu?
The production resources will be refunded and the buffs removed. Running productions will be completed (in the allotted time) and the buffs will be refunded when they are used on the Mayor's house.

    • Is it possible to use items like the "Banshee's Scream" buff after Removal phase 1?
You can still use the buff in order to get more Pumpkins before Removal Phase 1 finishes. As soon as Removal Phase 2 starts, the buff effect will end and you won't be able to use these buffs any more.

    REMOVAL PHASE 2 - November 17th
    • What happens with Removal Phase 2?
All remaining elements of the Halloween 2015 event will be removed with Removal Phase 2.
An event resource conversion will also take place one week after removal Phase 2, during which all remaining event resources will be converted into gold coins, similar to the Midsummer Night Special this year.

    • What about remaining pumpkin fields?
The pumpkins remaining on each field, no matter if the fields have been built or if they are still in your Star Menu, will be converted to coins as well. This ensures no pumpkins are lost, but no event resource buildings remain in order to truly remove all event resources.

    • Can the "Trick" and "Treat" buffs still be used after Removal Phase 1?
After Removal Phase 1, the "Trick" and "Treat" buffs created can still be used on your friends, but you won't be able to create more of them.

    Dear Settlers,

The date for the conversion of the remaining Halloween resources (pumpkins) has been changed.
The conversion is now scheduled during the maintenance taking place 1 week after Removal Phase 2.
All remaining pumpkins (including the ones contained within pumpkin fields) will be converted to Gold Coins.

    Removal Schedule
Removal Phase 1: November 10th (during maintenance)
    Removal Phase 2: November 17th
Pumpkin Conversion: November 24th (during maintenance)

We hope you had a fun Halloween Event!
