When I use full-size graphics settings I don't get any news messages, no generals in combat, no win/loss, no intercept. No mines depleted, no messages from specialist, nothing.
But when I enable half-size graphics all of those notifications work again.
I've tried emptying browser cache etc but nothing helps.
Using Chrome Version 46.0.2490.71 m

Missing sound and news when click on X in login screen. when i click on green tick everything is ok.

I am having similar problems and it seems to be connected to this.
I solved this problem by clicking on the icon with the pumpkin where counting down to the end of the event and then click on the question mark (?). Fine and both times when I had news tab problems.
