    Like Iolanthe said, it's currently by design that collectibles do not appear on new sectors (some might spawn on the edges inside main island sectors).

    I like the change, far easier than with all available space and based from some posts somewhere that was one reasons of the change. When you use the word penalize I would that fits perfectly to the previous behavior, a lot more space to try to find em from = more time wasted and more frustration.

    what i thought before xxl: hope theres no collies on archi.
    when xxl arrived: just as i thought more area and harder to search for same amount of collies. thought it was intended to force ppl to buy fairy fires during events.
    now after the fix: phew glad thats over.
    Was fighting windmills from Aug 2012 to Oct 2019.

    onto the next issue still way to few event colls dropping, 30 spawns, got about 7 event spawns

    Whilst, I see where your coming from, with `more area to search taking longer', this would be compensated by the fact there was `more' to find As always you don't have to search for all or any if you don't want too. The fact we have increased the available land should be matched with a balanced increase of available resources, be it mined resources, building space and collectibles.
    If BB made it so we had just bandits to fight on the xxl and then NO extra resources, and No extra building space, would we consider it an expansion to the game worthy of the title...I think not. I see no logic ( other than it being a bug ) that collectibles should be treated in any other way. After all they introduced the concept, whether we liked it or not, and they have given them a purpose in making buffs. To ignore them in the expansion just makes no sense. ( More likely an oversight )
    There is some question about the one collectible on xxl on the last spawn, but that does not explain why I had collectibles evenly spread out over the main island and xxl up until the killing of the last camp / purchasing last island. We were not told at any time since xxl release that these spawnings were unintentional, and only when players were getting low spawns on main island and none on xxl did we get any feedback to there actually being a bug....again not anything specific as to what part was bugged. We were then told it was fixed...we continued to report `something' was still not working post fix, and we got another fix, still not specific and reports on the German forum that its `intentional', 'but we (BB) are monitoring the situation'....Sorry, that just doesn't wash as to NOT being a bug, believe it if you want to, but I don't. If its not a bug in the code then it is a bug in the game design, pure and simple.
    Are we to be told of adventure changes or not? 1 Month on and still SNEAKY RB changes have not been mentioned

    They spawned there on purpose until last weeks change and AFAIK the change was done partly cause of feedback when more people progressed and possibly when trying to improve the spawn system. There is a lot of info from BB every week or two at German forums and above linked post and thread has the latest info about changes. Its not all random changes.

    edit: today's fix solved the spawning issue finally for me too

    I agree about the very mean drop rate of the Xmas collectibles^^ ... is this a joke?
    at this rate for those 2 quests "have 30 gingerbread", etc... + make a stack of presents... well are we going to achieve those quests in time...^^
    of course we have found the system to pass the 30 collectibles in guild, but to make those presents... good luck^^
    this is a bad surprise... just starting??^^

    They don't have to post every single decision or piece of information there is to all languages and regions. Dev diaries are for main things and change logs secondary. Forums are just for extra info and each region might have some info that the others might not have, ie. Polish forums were a good source at one point or French one. There was a genera log entry for collectible fix for last week changes which did not go to in details and generally it might be all they need to say as maybe larger spawn area was also part of the problem and not solely feedback issue.
