    [Dev Diary] Easter Event 2016

The upcoming Easter 2016 Event, Party Crashers, new Achievement building and more

    Dear Egg Hunters!

This year's Easter Event will bring some pretty tough guys to your island - the Party Crashers!
In addition, a new Achievement building can be obtained by playing the event and the Special Guild Quests will provide some extra Stripy Eggs. There will be a bunch of new items in the Event Shop and last, but not least, we have implemented a few improvements based on the worldwide player feedback from 2015. For example, your Explorers will bring back a guaranteed minimum number of Stripy Eggs with every treasure search.

Read all about the event in this Dev Diary!

    • Start: 15th of March 2016 (instantly after the Easter Event game update)
    • Removal phase I: 5th of April 2016 around 00:01 GMT
    • Complete deactivation: 12th of April 2016 with the next game update

New content will be added to the game this year. The most noticeable change is the Party Crasher camp in the middle of the island (on our so-called "event island"). There are also new achievements with a new reward building, new Easter quest chains for level 50+ and, of course: The new female Intrepid Explorer!

Stripy Easter Eggs are the Easter Event resource.
The following brief FAQ provides more information about the Easter 2016 event resource.

During the Event, all players have the chance to gather Stripy Eggs.
Stripy Eggs can be traded. There are several ways to get them:

    • Adventures:
All Adventures except Scenarios have a chance of providing Stripy Eggs as loot.
The values from 2015 no longer seemed fair because of the Level Cap Raise and the new content that was implemented over the past year.
Therefore, the rewards in Stripy Eggs for adventures have been re-balanced.
    • Expeditions:
All Expeditions have a chance of providing Stripy Eggs as loot.
There will be no islands with Stripy Eggs as colony yield.
    • Collectibles:
Stripy Eggs will spawn on the home island and can be collected.
    • Explorers:
Stripy Eggs can be found with each standard treasure search (in addition to the regular search reward).
Explorers will always bring back a minimum amount of Stripy Eggs from a treasure search.
    • Shop:
There will be 2 packages with Stripy Eggs available in the Shop.
    • Event Quest Chain:
Every 5 days, you will get one Easter Quest Chain (with several sub-quests), that will offer Stripy Eggs as a reward.
    • Quests & Easter adventures:
The Event Quest Chains will offer quests for 2 adventures in which hidden Easter Eggs have to be found.
There are 8 adventures in total, with a maximum of 9 hidden eggs in each.
    • Guild Quest:
Every day during the event, guilds will get one random guild quest from a total of five.
Completing this quest at an individual level will grant a small amount of event currency.
The more guild members that complete their individual quest, the bigger the grand guild reward is at the end of the day.

During the complete deactivation, all remaining Stripy Eggs will be exchanged to coins.
Read more about this in the explanation of the Removal Phases.

Please feel free to leave your feedback here.

    Happy Easter!

The island in the centre of the home zone will have a bridge, allowing a general to go across it. This bridge (and the "Event Island") can only be accessed by generals. It cannot be built upon (buildings, decorations or roads) and collectibles will not spawn on it.

The Party Crashers will make an appearance on your island every day and set up a camp in the centre of it. You can choose to deal with this problem by asking your friends for help to bribe them off your island, or by taking up arms yourself and sending your generals to deal with them. Once the camp is destroyed, smoking ruins will be left in its place. Consult the quest details in the Quest Book for more information.

Every passing day, the units inside the camp will become stronger and require stronger units (or more waves). To master this part of the event, you will have to defeat the Party Crashers camp 15 times. Every camp has a quest attached to it. The quest will not progress forward until the existing camp is defeated (by either means).

Upon defeating the last (15th) camp, the Party Crashers encounter will be replaced by a new daily and very challenging objective, where three bosses and strong bandit units have to be defeated.

The "Party Crashers" feature is available until Removal Phase I.

None of this year's Easter Event achievements will grant event currency. Buffs will be offered instead for successfully completing achievements.
Achievements are still valuable on their own, since they are useful to upgrade the Spacious Warehouse!

An Easter Basket building was introduced in 2015. It has been providing a warm and comfy shelter for your Settlers ever since. With this year's event, a new achievement building will be introduced: The Spacious Warehouse. The building works like an Improved Storehouse but provides even more space. Its level depends on the sum of achievement points gained from Easter 2016 Event achievements.

Finishing Easter quests or playing Easter buff adventures are only two of the many ways you can collect Easter 2016 achievement points.
The more Achievement Points that have been gathered, the more the building can be upgraded.

    • Acquiring the building
The building will be available as a quest reward from the quest chain "For my most loyal egg hiders". The building will be available in the Star Menu and can be placed on a free spot. The building will be available after the Easter 2016 Event, independent of any achievements completed.
    • Warehouse function:
Aside from having a visual appeal as decoration, the building also serves as a storehouse. The amount of goods that can be stored increases depending on the achievement points that are earned throughout the event. It is intended for this building to have the largest storage capacity in the game when fully upgraded, rivalling even the Improved Storehouse!
      → Level 1: 1,500 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 0

      → Level 2: 3,000 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 200

      → Level 3: 6,000 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 430

      → Level 4: 12,000 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 520

      → Level 5: 24,000 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 670

      → Level 6: 48,000 storage - Easter Event 2016 achievement points needed: 840

    • Upgrade conditions:
To upgrade the building's level, Easter 2016 achievement points have to be gathered.
Every time enough points are earned, an icon will indicate that the building can be upgraded.
The upgrade can be done without any additional costs.
    • Indestructible:
The building is indestructible. When destroyed, it will go back to your Star Menu.
It can be built again and upgraded to the original level again without additional cost.

The Easter Event will be deactivated in 2 steps. As known from previous events, most of the features are not available any more after Removal Phase I. Removal Phase II equals Complete Event deactivation (including the shop).

Removal phase I: 5th of April 2016 around 00:01 GMT

    • Easter quests will be deactivated except Easter guild quests. As soon as a new Guild Quest was received (midnight), no new event guild quests will be received. Regular guild quests will re-appear instead.
    • Achievements will no longer be obtainable, and the final score of the obtained Easter 2016 achievements will be the one that determines the level of the event building.
    • The achievement category will disappear for players who didn't gain achievement points during the event.
    • The first spawn of collectibles after Removal Phase I won't provide Stripy Eggs any more
    • Explorers won't find Stripy eggs any more:
In very rare cases, when returning shortly after Removal Phase I activation, Stripy Eggs will still be found.
    • Adventure and Expedition loot won't include Stripy Eggs anymore if completed during Removal Phase I, regardless of when they were started.
    • The Easter design will be removed from the loading screen
    • The Event window will be deactivated
    • The Event shop will still be available

Complete deactivation: 12th of April 2016 with the next game update

    • The Event Shop category will be deactivated
    • New trades containing event currency cannot be posted anymore.
Existing trade offers containing event currency will be invisible until they expire.
    • Stripy Eggs will be removed from the game and exchanged for Gold Coins.
The exchange will be conducted one week later, see "Stripy Egg exchange"-info below for details.

With the Easter event deactivation (Removal Phase II) or one week later

All Stripy Eggs will be removed from the game and converted to Coins (1 Stripy Egg = 1 Coin).
Please keep an eye on the Game Update news for details.
    • Every player will receive a message in the game
    • If there were Stripy Eggs in the Mayor's House, they get exchanged to Coins.
These Coins will be attached to the message
    • In case there were no Stripy Eggs left to exchange, the mail includes no Coins
    • Stripy Eggs in the Mayor's House will be automatically exchanged to Coins and sent via in-game mail
    • Stripy Eggs in the Star Menu will be exchanged to Coins and appear as Coin buffs in the Star menu
    • All running trade offers and requests will be removed from the trade.
The invested resources will be sent back attached to an in-game message
including Coins instead of Stripy eggs
    • Stripy Eggs as message attachment (e.g. from adventures or Explorer searches)
will be exchanged to Gold coins. The mail will remain unchanged but contain Gold Coins instead of Stripy eggs.

Update: New information was added to Removal phase I and II.
Update 2: The Removal Phases info has been updated to accurately reflect Stripy Eggs returned by explorers after Removal Phase I.
