While we are talking about the Party crashers buffs, sometimes it says you can use any type of buff on your friends island, but when you get there you cannot use the lower level buff we were using during last week, you hav eto use the next buff up.

Have I got this right or wrong?

For the "helping hand" quest ANY truce works but the Party Crasher’s camps can NOT be buffed with any buffs. It is possible that someone still has the Garrison where you need to use the modest truce but most have the Bulwark that need decent truce and in a couple of days we'll have the Fortress that requires the gaudy truce.

If you are meaning the quest to use 4 truces of any type on a friend's island that just means that any type of truce will count towards your quest total... but you still have to use the correct type of truce appropriate to the garrison on your friends' islands.

The 'receiver' player will have a quest specifying which buffs are needed. The 'giving' player has achievements, requiring 25 of each buff type. You can place more than the other player needs if desired - the camp doesn't vanish until that player selects to do so.

And yes, the camp requires certain buffs - so you have to use the right ones. You might end up with some leftover lower-level buffs as a result.

The quest that you get to lend a hand is the same every day throughout the event, so yes you can use any buff to fulfill your quest, but that won't change the buffs needed on your friend's island. You could find another friend who still needs the lower buffs, and that would count towards your quest. Basically, for your own quest, it doesn't matter which you do, it will be fulfilled anyway.
