    New players leaving

may be you could reintroduce weapons drops for new players in adventure or quests on a sliding scale up to say lvl35 or what ever appropriate, we have invited lots of new players to our guild and give lots of help but 9 out of ten drop out before lvl 35 some earlier, when i started there were weapons in the loot and it made the game much easier to start, most players who started with me are still here, this is a big game to learn

This game has always had a high turnover of new players and lack of weapons drops are not the only reason which did not exist before. However those reasons are not being raised at this point so I won't go into them.

To my mind the problem with weapons drops is they leave a players infrastructure badly prepared for the higher level adventures once you reach level 42 which demand production of more than just bronze swords and bows. I for one would not want to have to run upto 100 lesser adventures just to obtain enough iron swords to run a fairytale adventure. As for Dama, Xbows and Cannons there was never enough new players leveling up to absorb the glut of these weapons.
When it comes to Gene pools and shallow ends they can be found at the bar drinking pina colada's

the drop out of new players is from my observation now much higher since the loot change, and the weapon drop did make the game a bit more interesting as we could adventure more instead of waiting for materials or buildings to finish, those of us who started with weapons drops have all managed to build the weapons chains but we did it when we were more advanced in the game knew how to play and had built a stock of materials

I would hate to see weapons reintroduced in loot.
When they took them away we were forced to set up proper production chains and I feel we benefited from that.
I seriously doubt that all your guildies are quitting the game due to lack of weapons.
Our smaller players learn to produce their own weapons from early levels and I feel they are stronger players due to this fact.
so Im afraid its a -1 for reintroducing weapons drops from me

I would like weapons introduced to the adv loots again, for the newbs and us old timers/fossils again, but I doubt it'll keep the newbs playing though.

Tell the newbs about the exp requirements for levels past 50 and you wont have the problem of deciding whether or not you'll keep them playing by bringing the weapons back - they will quit right away.

    I completely agree.
+1 to you (-1 to adding weapons back to loot)

It's not just new players quitting lights are going out at all levels, weapons have nothing to do with it, it's more to do with endless grind ahead. I think the F2P aspect of the game has gone if you have any intention of reaching 75 that turns a lot of people away. I get the feeling most folks log in do a bit have a chat and log back out, how long that's sustainable I don't know.

FTP = Fun to Play? And now it's not as much as it was?

That's a hugely subjective thing. For myself, while I like achieving levels I usually put the next level on 'mental park' until I start to get somewhat close and if new buildings or abilities will be involved how to prepare for them. But when I've just crossed a level boundary the next one is not on my mind at all.

I focus on more personal/smaller achievements like how well I can get the economy to balance, whether or not I can trim some losses from a given adventure, seeing if I can determine a new block or attack path, and sometimes just planting flowers

Of course then I always have something else to work at - Mrs. Xibor (aka Diwata) tends to out perform me in exp, gold, achievements, (pretty much everything) and she has great fun doing that so I am always motivated to slip ahead when she's not watching and annoy her
Sorry, but I've slept since then...

I think Ksinori will show you that you can reach lvl75 per 1-1,5 year so its like on all games if you want to reach something like that you have to play alot. So dont think that you can reach lvl 75 by chating. And no weapons in loot back i never had chance to get it but i started my way on this game produce what ppl need and sell. Live with and im happy by buying weapons and bread or ask guild to give me some if im short.
