    PC program not working

    Hello,

    Please can you help?

I have the PC program installed on my laptop and after updating my VLC media player the program no longer works. It launches but then when I click on "play now" the VLC video player opens in the program window. I've unistalled and reinstalled the Settlers program but to no avail.

    Many thanks.

Which version of Windows are you using?
    Which browser are you using?
Have you tried the stand-alone slimline browser download version?

    Daz,

    Thanks for your reply.

    I'm on Windows 7

I'm using Firefox (Settlers works fine in the browser)

It's the downloaded version I'm having problems with.

Following a little research into the issue, there may be a solution.

It may be that your VLC Player is set to open flash files (.swf) by default. If there is any way that the settings in you VLC can be changed to not open .swf by default, that should hopefully allow you to play SettlersOnline slim browser again.

Hope this helps or leads you to a solution that does work

    Dazz,

I think I've sorted it. The uninstall and reinstall of flash didn't fix it, so I uninstalled VLC and then on the reinstall of VLC I unticked the Mozilla plugin and the Active X plugin and the program seems to be loading up okay now.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Hello,
I have the same problem with VLC and stand alone downloaded version of the game.
I'm on windows 7 and I use Chrome
Everything works just fine when VLC is unistalled. Even when I uncheck all the boxes for the related extensions it still won't run. Can't find any associations to above mentioned .swf file
    Help if you can

Hello Zveronja. Read the post by SgtColon again and follow what he did. It appears that it worked for him
