If I send explorers on treasure search just before Football event 2016 starts, will they come back with "football rewards" or not ?

so according to the dev blog, still no fix has yet been established and we wont be finding any event items with our explorers, or just don't log out for the whole event and they will return with the goodies each day?
Sorry, I may be reading it wrong, but it's not entirely clear what's going to happen for this footy event, can it be clarified?
You can get event resources and tactical items from your explorers/scouts if u send them b4 the event starts (doesn't matter if u are logged out as long as u send b4 the event starts).
But u cannot get any event resources if u send your scouts jus b4 the event ends (unless u are logged in for the entire duration of the search), that's how I understand it and this has been exactly the same routine for the last xmas and easter event!
Prior to those last 2 events you could get event resource if u sent scouts jus b4 the end of the event whether logged in or out. Not sure why it was changed, well I guess for the simple fact that they didn't want u to get that extra little resource boost in the 1st day of the last week the event shop remained open.
Most veterens will remember when lucky scouts had an extra resource slot and this has unfortunately been taken away last couple of events. Why? Extra resource that's why!
Okay, somehow Ive also mixed this dev blog up with "why didn't our explorers bring back eggs at easter"
On that note, I can't see that we had an explanation for the sudden disappearance of event resources back then, when we had clearly raised it.
It's an important factor in how we skill up our explorers, so any chance of an official response now please, it's been a few months...
What if I start adventure before event is started and finish this adventure when the event is already started ?
Will I get event reward ?
