Then save up for paypal or some pre payed visa card or something unil next time happy hour comes along and all is sorted

Oh wait - "normal people are". Ok, I give you that one (if you only knew me).
HOWEVER, I also save money so that if my car is low on petrol 2 days before I get paid I don't have to walk. Sounds like you need to learn to plan ahead. Also that would be too many Happy Hours - the company has a right to make some money to keep providing a service so they can't sell their income stream at 1/2 price all the time. Next pay day, buy some gems if you need them that much.
And kke2100 is right - gems doesn't make anything happen you can't do otherwise. It's a matter of patience and careful planning.

I get paid on the last day of the month. my partner gets paid weekly. our rent is due on the 17th of the month
So you consume all your money in 1 week or 2? the happy hours usually happened 2 times or 1 monthly time but sometimes in the last of first week or first of 2nd week.
This is not BB issue, its your own issue with your money management!
