Absolutely - failed attempts complete quest. My geologits had 11 fruitless searches but completed quest
Hello again guys! So after having a conversation with the devs, it's been confirmed that being able to complete this quest without successfully finding a deposit is intended. The quest just asks you to complete the task, not necessarily succeed - this was to solve issues such as having endless mines etc.
Thank you for the reports regardless. It's always better to double check these things than let some slip through the cracks.
