Im obviously not stressing with the anticipation that general trees will be in shortly, but it requires 5 manuscripts 10 tomes 6x codex




6 codex takes 18 tomes, 28 tomes take, 38 tomes take 140 manuscripts.

Being able to create those total 145 required manuscripts in RPH is a MAJOR boon
A manuscript in RPH takes 7h30, but you can reliably x4 that with a barazek, which gives you a manuscript in under 2 hours each. Compared to a a bookmaker where you can't queue books, and thus buffs are potentially completely wasted/unreliable, taking 10hrs for a manuscript.

So that RPH manuscript making is nearly a x5 production improvement on a incredibly large part of the required items needed to upgrade specialists.

Even with that - I think I will have books to skill my gens in 10 years or so
It still take way too long to skill specialists

Increasing the drop rate of all the follow on adventures (Like return to bandit nest) would help a little bit, and ensure that you get a manuscript for a short letter quest and codex for long, like you do for normal later quests - Tome reward.

Making books in the RPH is a high level bonus which can be earned, it is not a right which all players deserve just for playing the game. There are going to be a lot of players who can only wait until they are of a high enough level to be able to do long letters, let alone dreaming of being high enough to run books or the highest level travel guides. So saying you absolutely must have the recipes so as to skill up generals is akin to a kid demanding it's parents that it needs that toy just because another kid down the street has one.

It's past the point of ridiculous with the addition of the new skill trees for generals. BB, why would you possibly do this to loyal players who have played the game for years and purchased gems? Why would you possibly create important new content and not allow some accounts to access it? As Koraku pointed out, it would take hundreds of manuscripts to book the generals. It is never going to happen for accounts that can't get the recipe. It's just adding insult to injury at this point.

I have bought gems in the past (a lot of them) so I have no idea if that's why my account is one of the penalized ones. I'd be interested in hearing how many of the accounts that can't get the recipe are gem purchasers. I don't mind spending money on a game I play as much as I did settlers, but I won't do it for content I'll never be able to use. If BB releases the skill trees for generals without fixing the manuscript issue, that will be enough for me to make the final decision to quit the
game. Even for the players where it's not the sole reason for quitting, it will be enough additional frustration to drive others out. Unfortunately, BB apparently doesn't even care enough about retaining players to pay attention to what's being said in the forum or respond to it. Sad!

Trying from beginning to get a manuscript and still don't have it, its really irritating!
Even don't know how many chrytals I've burned for getting the quests, I use every opportunity to get them and I'm in premium so it must have been lots, didn't expect that it would take that long. Love the extra XP from the quests, but after opening 3 boxes again today.....:S

Same here, I have done quite a few, I did the Settlers & Bandits (Book Of Characters) one the other day and still did not get the manuscript.
Getting quite annoying now.

I think the thing that annoys me most about it is that BB won't even acknowledge the issue or make any response about it. I even put in a support ticket for it, but got no response at all from them. Yet they're putting out new content (general's skill tree) that will make a big difference in the game for players that have it. How can they not even respond on the issue?

I'm going to keep trying regardless, but I would be curious what the odds actually are

Get in!! Got it on the 11th attempt, didn't succumb to buying gems either. but after only getting 2 evil queen & 2 lost city Ive been stuck on long letter for weeks and to have something important as the manuscript recipe at a tiny chance is criminal imho.
Absolute huge part of the game this recipe has become now, the rph is not great for tome/codex but for manuscripts they are.

Feel sry for anyone who's had over 20 attempts without success as I was raging inside on just 10 attempts!

I would hope that BB will look into fixing this issue by giving it to anyone who's had at least 15 attempts but that would be a big disruption in revenue.
