It was about 10 times for the manu
Still trying here.. up to around 16 attempts no with no joy..
glad to see I'm not the only 1 who never gets the good loot, not just from exelsior but from any adv/quest.
Random loot is not a good system!

When it comes to Gene pools and shallow ends they can be found at the bar drinking pina colada's
Its possible to buy resources.
Got it on my 4th try, ex guildie got both manu and tome recipe on 1st try.
Other people I know got on 2nd try, 1st try or are at 25+ tries and still nothing...to be honest I havent met anybody that got it for example on the 10th try...very soon or not at all...

still no manu recipe for me and I've given up on it for the moment, I made 6 codex after doing the Compass quests 6 times, which is really the only quest dropping in there for me,
It's more important / pleaseurable to do ali baba addys so doing book in excelsior as I want recruitment guides , which have changed the number of troops I can cook in the elite barracks radically
So staying with the book side in Excelsior for the moment and maybe butt heads again fro the manuscript recipe another time
