This would only make sense if it were ~75 crystals or more instead of 100 gems, in which case you should theoretically have good odds at getting at least 100 gems back from 2 completed small letters. But due to the gem imbalance in letters, it would be badly skewed for medium/long letters.
Definitely a big NO from me. I echo what mentioned by vigabrand.
-1 and a huge one at that, keep the 7d 100gems
