Since we can now get 50 gems very easily from Excelsior quests, how about doing away with the 7 day gem bonus and giving us a larger amount of crystals?
All in all I'm loving excelsior and now I'm slightly disappointed on gem day! Who'd have thought?!

I'd be happy with say 10 crystals on the 7th day
Also the ali adventures don't have collectibles, perhaps they could include crystals there too?

You can always use the gems in the Excelsior so no change needed.

3 spins on the slot machine for 87 gems won't get much, but 15 crystals would probably get you 2 mini quests with a bunch of xp, some refillers, cool zone buffs and gems anyway...

Not everyone can afford to buy a significant amount of gems. I would rather have the gems.
Crystals can only be used in the Excelsior Forge, whereas Gems can be used both in the forge (albeit not as efficiently), and elsewhere in the game. Having the end reward remain gems allows players to fund other activities outside of Excelsior, which is still an important part of the game. We like this balance as opposed to having one or the other.
The day BB gets rid of the 100 gems for these awful crystals will be my last day. I just wish I could sink this Excelsior and leave it at the bottom of the sea.
