Started The Lost Compass and it requires me to complete an Arabian Knights adventure. I have started production of elite soldiers but could be 10 days before I have enough. Do side quests or any quests for that matter(daily?) expire?

not that i know of
dailies do not expire, however the waiting daily quest will be replaced every day. So you can take 2 days to complete a daily (and the waiting one) before you "miss" a daily quest.
Other side quests do not expire.
