I was invited to a guildie's VLT, used an arrow buff on the royal residence and got the notification that it had worked. My guildie then finished the adventure and I got an email with adventure collectables but no adventure loot and I also didn't get credit for the GQ either.
In the attached screenshot, you can see the buff notification at 16:56 then, at 17:07 I get the email on completion. The open Guild Quest is not complete even though I should have got credit for it from my lootspot.
Did you actually check to see what troops you killed ?

Is it possible you have reproduced the effect detailed here?
Another important question, did your friend lose more than 50 Soldiers? If he did it that task won't be completed for you.

Oh they have changed that, ok, good.
No, I checked. At the time I was the only lootspotter so the only people in the adventure were myself and the adventure owner. He did not use a buff of any kind on the residence.
I did a quick mouse over after applying the buff and noticed that some of the numbers were smaller. I didn't inspect it too closely though.
maybe buff kill dont count for quest requiring 'losing less' or 'losing no' type - maybe attack by general is needed ?
